ObjectiveComparing the clinical effect between the electro-acupuncture combined with warm needling method and the electro-acupuncture therapy in the treatment of IBS-D.MethodsIn this study,70 patients who were in accordance with IBS-D inclusion criteria were divided into one treatment group with 35 patients using electro-acupuncture combined with warm needling method and one control group with 35 patients using electro-acupuncture therapy according to the random number table method. The treatment group’s points were chosen according to symptoms.Principal points:DU20,DU24,ST25,RN4,ST37,ST36,HT7,HT3,PC6.Choose suitable needles for the injection, and all of them should be twirled after given qi.After given qi,Electro-acupuncture with warm needling includes ST25 [left],RN4,ST37,and electro-acupuncture includes [DU20,DU24],[ST25,RN4],[ST37,ST36],[HT7,HT3,PC6].Moxibustion on SP6 if with weak spleens and stomachs, moxibustion on BL23,DU4 if spleens and stomachs suffer yang deficiency, moxibustion on LR3 if with liver stagnation and spleen deficiency. The control group takes the same treatment as the treatment group except without the warm needling. All patients were treated once a day,6 times for a week as a course of treatment,1 day for rest,a total of 4 weeks.Main observation index as IBS symptom severity scale(IBS-SSS),SF-36 was evaluated 1 times before and after 4 weeks of treatment.Use SPSS19.0 statistical software for statistical analysis.T test and Chi square were used to measure the data of the measurement data.According to the α =0.05,p < 0.05 had statistical significance, there was significant difference in p < 0.01.According to the test results to evaluate the changes of observation index, and the therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.ResultsBefore treatment, compared the gender, age,TCM syndrome typing,IBS symptom severity scale(IBS-SSS)and the MOS item short from health survey,SF-36 of two groups of cases, there was no statistically significant difference(p>0.05).After treatment, there was a statistically significant difference between the IBS symptom severity scales of the two groups of patients(p<0.05),indicating that the electro-acupuncture combined with warm needling method was better than electro-acupuncture therapy in improving IBS symptoms.Using the MOS item short from health survey,SF-36 of the two groups to compare the difference of the five dimensions(the physiological functions, physical pain, vitality, social function, mental health)of the two groups, the result was statistically significant(p<0.05),indicating that the electro-acupuncture combined with warm needling method is better than electro-acupuncture therapy in improving the negative effect on physiological function, physical pain, vitality, social function and mental health causing by IBS-D.And after the treatment, the difference in therapeutic effect was statistically significant(p<0.05).The total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.97%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 84.37%.ConclusionWe treated IBS-D patients with the electro-acupuncture combined with warm needling method and the electro-acupuncture therapy respectively and observed the how the symptoms improve. And the IBS-SSS scale and the MOS item short from health survey,SF-36 were used to score. The results showed that there was significant difference within both groups before and after treatment. After treatment,IBS-SSS scale was used to evaluate the therapeutic effect, and the comparison between the two groups was statistically significant. It could be considered that the electro-acupuncture combined with warm needling method was better than the electro-acupuncture therapy in improving the symptoms of IBS.Using the MOS item short from health survey,SF-36 to evaluate the therapeutic effect, the difference between the two groups in the five dimensions(physiological function, body pain, vitality, social function and mental health)was statistically significant, indicating that in the treatment of IBS-D,the electro-acupuncture combined with warm needling method could better improve patients’ physiological function, body pain, vitality, social function and mental health, and its therapeutic effect is superior to electro-acupuncture therapy. Also, after treatment the difference in therapeutic effect was statistically significant. Therefore, compared with simple electro-acupuncture therapy,electro-acupuncture combined with warm needling method is better in treating IBS-D and more conducive to the relief of patients’ symptoms and raise the living standards, which is worthy to be popularized and applied clinically.
