Objective To make assessments of urinary function of patients with urinary functions preservation on resection of pelvic ganglioneuroma,to explore whether it is effective to recover of the postoperative urinary function or not,to verify do the urinary functions preservation during operation. Methods Retrospective analysis of 12 patients in Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University underwent urinary functions preservation on resection of pelvic ganglioneuroma. All of their postoperative pathological examination had been confirmed, and make assessments of urinary function with urodynamics test and questionnaire survey of the subjective feeling of urination more than 2 month after the surgery. The questionnaire survey including frequent micturition, the urgency of urination, urine incontinence, odynuria, acraturesis, contrast between preoperative and postoperative.Postoperative urinary function assessment results of 12 patients underwent urinary functions preservation on resection of pelvic ganglioneuroma were analyzed with statistics. Results The urinary functions preservation on resection of pelvic ganglioneuroma were successfully performed in al cases, one of them was performed adding with rightlateral decubitus, the estimated blood loss was 300 ml,transfused with 3 unit of blood. The others were performed successfully, mean operative time of them was 109±24min(59~170min)and mean estimated blood loss was 106±32ml(40~160ml)without transfusion. The drainage tube was removed in 3 to 5 days after surgery, and the postoperative hospital stays ranged 7 ~ 10 days. The data of postoperative urodynamics test was analyzed with statistics, contrast to the normal data, which draw a conclsion that they have no statistic difference(P>0.05).We got that there was no change through a questionnaire survey between preoperative symptoms and postoperative one.Severe postoperative complications were not observed in these cases. Conclusions Understanding pelvic ganglioneuroma fully, realizing the anatomy of pelvic autonomic nerves and distinguish them to avoid autonomic nerves damage during surgery,in this premise, that we can achieved to urinary functions preservation on resection of pelvic ganglioneuroma. We found that urinary function of patients were almost not be effected, which analized by the urodynamics test and questionnaire survey,to certify that it is a definite effective surgery.
