| Objectives: This study aimed to learn about the hospital emergency response capacity of medical staffs in Xi’an City and analysis the related influence factors.Through discussing the results and influencing factors on hospital emergency response capacity survey,our study propose feasible suggestions and solutions for hospitals to carry out appropriate education and guidance on the hospital emergency events.Ultimately,the hospital emergency response capacity of medical staffs will be improved.Methods: We started a questionnaire survey about the hospital emergency response capacity of medical staffs in Xi’an City from April to June of 2016.Our self-compiled questionnaire was formed through drawing on relevant research,reviewing literature and consulting experts.The questionnaire include two parts: Hospital catastrophic emergency response capacity questionnaire and Hospital information system(HIS)failure response capacity questionnaire.Distributing and recollecting the questionnaires,then establishing a database with Epidata3.1 and analyzing all the data using SPSS17.0 software finally.The statistical methods used in our study involved the general descriptive analysis,Chi-Square Test,Kruskal-Wallis H Rank Sum Test,Hosmer-Lemeshow Test and Logistic Regression and the results were significant by the standard of P<0.05.Results: 1.The hospital emergency response capacity of medical staffs in Xi’an City questionnaire quality assessment The authority degree(Cr)and internal consistency coefficient(KR-20)of this questionnaire about medical staffs of Xi’an in hospital emergency response abilities were 0.86 and 0.774.This results demonstrated that our questionnaire possess good reliability.The content validity test(I-CVI and S-CVI)of this questionnaire were 0.83-1 and 0.93.This results suggested that our questionnaire was approved by most experts.Test-retest reliability correlation coefficient(r)of this questionnaire was 0.82.This results suggested that our questionnaire possess good reliability and stability.2.The results and influence factors of hospital emergency response capacity test of medical staffs in Xi’an City 2.1 The hospital catastrophic emergency response capacity survey 2.1.1 The results of hospital catastrophic emergency response capacity test for medical staffs The pass rate of hospital catastrophic emergency response capacity test for 240 medical staffs in three Three-level A-rate hospitals in Xi’an City was 75.8%.In addition,the pass rate in fire response capacity test was 81.3%,collapse in hospital test was 78.3%,fulminating infectious disease test was 70.4%,acute group poisoning test was 73.3%.2.1.2 The influence factors of hospital catastrophic emergency response capacity test results The pass rate of hospital catastrophic emergency response capacity test showed significant difference in education level,classification of departments,emergency experience and hospital emergency events education experience groups.The pass rates in undergraduate and junior college group(OR=0.214,0.666,95%CI= 0.094 ~ 0.559,0.261~1.387)were lower than graduate group.The pass rates in emergency department and internal medicine group(OR=21.818,2.270,95%CI=2.674~178.051,1.118~4.609)were higher than surgical department group.The pass rates in emergency experience and hospital emergency events education experience group(OR=5.058,2.894,95%CI=2.469~10.363,1.433~5.847)were higher than no emergency experience and no education experience group.2.1.3 Approaches and attitudes in acquiring related knowledge about hospital catastrophic emergency events In this study,77.5% medical staffs showed interest in acquiring related knowledge about hospital catastrophic emergency events.In addition,88.8% medical staffs considered that it is necessary to learn hospital catastrophic emergency events related knowledge.Moreover,the most promising approaches for medical staffs in acquiring hospital catastrophic emergency events related knowledge were videos and simulation exercises,followed by seminar and brochure.2.2 The hospital information system failure response capacity survey 2.2.1 The results of hospital information system failure response capacity test for medical staffs The pass rate of hospital information system failure response capacity test for 210 medical staffs in three Three-level A-rate hospitals in Xi’an City was 62.9%.2.2.2 The influence factors of hospital information system failure response capacity test results The pass rate of hospital information system failure response capacity test showed significant difference in education level,working experience,hospital information system failure experience and HIS failure related education experience groups.The pass rates in undergraduate and junior college group(OR=0.383,0.457,95%CI= 0.168 ~ 0.875,0.224~0.933)were lower than graduate group.The pass rates in working experience< 5 years and 5-15 years group(OR=0.324,0.543,95%CI=0.139~0.754,0.246~1.202)were higher than working experience> 15 years group.The pass rates in HIS failure experience and HIS failure education experience group(OR=2.732,1.981,95%CI=1.427~5.230,1.036~3.787)were higher than no HIS failure experience and no education experience group.2.1.3 Approaches and attitudes in acquiring related knowledge about hospital information system failure events In this study,69.1% medical staffs showed interest in acquiring related knowledge about hospital information system failure events.In addition,90.0% medical staffs considered that it is necessary to learn hospital information system failure events related knowledge.Moreover,the most promising approaches for medical staffs in acquiring hospital information system failure events related knowledge were internet and simulation exercises,followed by videos and brochure.Conclusion: 1.The questionnaire of hospital emergency response capacity of medical staffs in Xi’an City possess good internal consistency reliability,construct validity and content validity.2.The current hospital emergency response capacity of medical stuffs should be improved.Especially,there was general lack of hospital information system failure response knowledge in medical staffs.3.The main factors affecting hospital catastrophic emergency response capacity of medical staffs were education level,classification of departments,emergency experience and hospital emergency events education experience.In addition,the main factors affecting HIS failure response capacity of medical staffs were education level,working experience,hospital information system failure experience and HIS failure related education experience.4.There are relative lack of emergency response capability of medical staffs in the hospital and the knowledge and skills of the medical staffs in different categories are not balanced.However,the medical staffs generally have a strong interest and willing in learning.Thus,based on differences in our survey,increasing of hospital emergency related knowledge learning and skill training can greatly improve the emergency response capacity of the medical staffs in hospitals.5.The hospital should strengthen the combination of theory and practice content in emergency response capacity training.Appropriate increase in the occurrence of emergency events scene teaching and simulation scenario can improve their hospital emergency response capacity.At the same time,according to different departments,and different levels of medical staffs,personnel training should be carried out and all medical staff can improve their ability inemergency response. |
