A Retrospective Study Of 5-year Clinical Application Of HBIC Implant System

Objective:To evaluate the long-term clinical effect of HBIC implant system in the restoration of single-implant,and study the relationship between patient-related factors and the result of implant margin bone loss.Methods:242 patients treated by HBIC single-implant in the oral and maxillofacial surgery implant center of the HeBei Medical University stoma-tological hospital from January 2012 to December 2012 have been followed up.The complications occurred after the implantation were recorded,and the implant survival rate,implant success rate,papilla index(PI),levels of implant marginal bone loss(MBL)were counted.And the influence of patient-related factors(gender,age,education,occupation,smoking habits and implanting sites)to the result of MBL were analysesed.Results:The patients complained no discomfort or little discomfort one week after the implantation.23 of the 242 patients lost the follow-up,the lost rate is 9.5%.204 cases fulfilled the success criterion,11 cases failed.Cervical fracture occurred in 2 anterior dental implants,2 implants experienced a history of peri-implantitis,The implant survival rate is 94.98%,and the success rate is 93.15%.In these five years,20 cases of mechanical compli-cations occurred,including 8 cases of superstructure screw mobility,7 cases of crown fall off,5 cases of porcelain fracture of restorations.A median Papilla index(PI)of 3(IQR:3-3)for both the mesial and dital papilla.The relationship between patient-related factors and the implant margin bone loss:nonsmokers’MBL is lower than smokers’(?~2=43.462,P<0.001),MBL at the edge of the mandibular premolar region is lower than that of other implant sites(?~2=36.153,P<0.001),the MBL of people who get bachelor degree or above is lower than these who don’t have bachelor degree(z=-3.446,P=0.001),doctors and teachers’MBL is lower than the other profession(?~2=11.438,P=0.010).There is no significant difference in MBL of different gender and age(P>0.05).Conclusion:5 years after the operation,the survival rate and success rate of HBIC implant is high,it has a good clinical application value.Smoking habit,planting site,education background,and profession can influence the level of MBL.
