Objective: To explore the efficacy and clinical value of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation(NIPPV)on thoracocyllosis patients with type Ⅱrespiratory failure. Methods: A total of 12 patients with thoracocyllosis complicated by type Ⅱrespiratory failure admitted to Tianjin medical university General hospital from May.2014 to Dec.2017 were selected as research objects, all the patients were given non-invasive ventilation therapy, the clinical date of this 12 patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results: PH was significantly elevated on the day prior to discharge and the fifth day after NIPPV than before(P<0.05);Arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(Pa CO2)were significantly decreased on the third day、fifth day and the day prior to discharge(P<0.05);Arterial partial pressure of oxygen(Pa O2)were significantly increased at every time point after NIPPV(P<0.05);After the therapy,RR and HR of 12 cases were decreased the difference is statistically significant. Conclusions: In the thoracocyllosis patients with type Ⅱ respiratory failure,non-invasive positive pressure ventilation has a good therapeutic effect and a high clinical application value.
