Research On Technological Innovation Capability Of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Listed Companies In The Pearl River Delta

As a technology-intensive industry,technological innovation is the prerequisite and foundation for its continuous development.In order to have a place in the global pharmaceutical market,it is necessary to enhance the international competitiveness of China’s pharmaceutical manufacturing industry by enhancing technological innovation capabilities.In recent years,China’s pharmaceutical manufacturing industry has paid more and more attention to technological innovation capabilities and has continuously increased its investment in this area.The Pearl River Delta region has a strong outward radiation capability based on its geographical advantages,it’s adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao,the pharmaceutical industry has developed rapidly.As a whole,the technological innovation capability of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta continues to increase,but there are still some deficiencies.At present,the Pearl River Delta pharmaceutical manufacturing industry still lags behind in terms of technicalequipment,management and technology.The research and development capability of new drug is relatively low and the technical content of products is not high.If the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta region wants to take a higher level,it must pay attention to technological innovation.But what is the level of technological innovation capability of listed companies in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta region?What is the difference when compared with the Yangtze River Delta region?These are worthy of attention and discussion.In order to solve these problems,this article conducts a comprehensive and in-depth empirical research on the technological innovation capability of the Pearl River Delta pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.This article began with combing the relevant theories of the technological innovation capability of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry,systematically reviewed the domestic and foreign literature researches on pharmaceutical technology innovation.Based on the data of the China Statistical Yearbook,a brief analysis of the state of the input and output of technological innovation in the Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and the development of the pharmaceutical industry in the Pearl River Delta from 2011 to 2015 would be analyzed.Compared the investment and output of technological innovation in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the PearlRiver Delta Economic Circle with that of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle,and found out the problems that existed.On the basis of literature research,this article combined the actual situation in the Pearl River Delta region and the availability of data.Finally,five major indicators,a total of 12 secondary indicators were selected to construct an evaluation index system for technological innovation capability of listed companies in the Pearl River Delta pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.Then a total of 36 listed A-share pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta regions were selected as research samples and collected its data from 2011 to2016,after using factor analysis to reduce the dimension through SPSS19.0 software,three main factors were obtained,which were innovation input capabilities,innovation implementation capabilities,and innovative operational capabilities.Based on the results of the processing,a comprehensive understanding of the overall score of the listed companies’ technological innovation capabilities would be obtained.By comparing the comprehensive scores of listed companies in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta,we could see that Shanghai Pharmaceuticals and Hengrui Pharmaceuticals in the Yangtze River Delta region were very eye-catching,while in the Pearl River Delta Region,the overall capacity for technological innovation was not high enough and the investmentability for innovation was insufficient.There was a certain gap with the Yangtze River Delta Region.After analysis,relevant conclusions can be drawn:the listed companies of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta had problems such as low investment,innovative strength was not strong,low output levels and insufficient government support.Based on existing problems,related suggestions were put forward,such as increasing investment in technological innovation resources,including investment in funds and scientific and technological personnel,improving the ability to transform innovation results,increasing government support and increasing investment in the industry.So that the technological innovation capability of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry listed companies in the pearl river delta can be improved further.
