| Objective To investigate the relationship between cognitive function and childhood trauma and other factors in patients with chronic alcohol dependence. Methods 37 patients with chronic alcohol dependence were enrolled as study group,30 volunteers were recruited in the community as control group. The cognitive function of the two groups was tested by MCCB,CTQ was used to evaluated the childhood traumatic experience..Alcohol dependence was assessed by the alcohol use disorder screening scale AUDIT.T test were used to compare the difference of general condition, cognitive function and childhood traumatic experience between the two groups.Pearson correlation and Multiple linear regressionwere used to analysis the relationship between cognitive function and childhood traumatic experience and other factors in patients with chronic alcohol dependence. Results Compared with the control group, the study group had no difference in age, years of schooling, and the years of education of the father and mother;the total score of cognitive function of the study group was lower than the total score of the control group(t=20.169,P<0.05),the difference It is statistically significant.Cognitive function was damaged in many aspects. The research group was lower than the control group in the speed of information processing,attention/alertness,working memory, visual learning, reasoning and problem solving(t=29.497,4.106,18.226,10.586,47.051,P<0.05),the difference was statistically significant;the study group increased emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional neglect and total score compared withthe control group(t=7.49,5.879,4.619,4.094,9.378,All P<0.05),the difference was statistically significant;Pearson correlation analysis showed that the study group’s emotional neglect was negatively correlated with information processing speed, attention alertness, and visual learning(r=-0.434,-0.344,-0.379),both P <0.01 or P<0.05);multiple regression analysis showed that emotional dependence of alcohol-dependent patients had a significant effect on cognitive function(t=-3.244,P<0.05).Conclusion There are obvious cognitive impairment in patients with chronic alcohol dependence. The cognitive impairment is related to the traumatic childhood experience. |
