| Aim: To analyze the risk factors for incomplete endoscopic submucosal resection of rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms and offer clinical experience after incomplete endoscopic submucosal resection. Methods: From February 2012 to February 2018,62 cases of rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms resected by endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)were enrolled, factors associated with incomplete endoscopic resection were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were followed up by enteroscopy and telephone. Results: Univariate analysis: Depth of infiltration(P <0.05)and central depression of the surface mucosa(P<0.05)were risk factors for incomplete resection of ESD in rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms.Multivariate analysis revealed central depression of the surface mucosa(P = 0.031)and infiltration of the lesion into the submucosa(P = 0.014)were independent risk factors for incomplete resection of rectal neuroendocrine neoplasm. All patients were followed up regularly for an average of 2.4 years(0.6-5.2 years). No recurrence or metastasis was found. Conclusion: 1.Depth of infiltration、the central depression of surface were associated with incomplete resection of rectal neuroendocrine neoplasm.2.After an incomplete ESD resection of rectal neuroendocrine neoplasm, without evidence of lympho-vascular infiltration and distant invasion,a periodic follow-up examination may be considered. |
