| ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of advisor’s Huoxue Huayu Jiedu Recipe combined Western medicine in the treatment of essential thrombocythemia(ET)and polycythemia vera(PV),compared with pure Western medicine.MethodsThere are 30 patients with ET and 16 patients with PV from the outpatient department and ward in Hematology Department of Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM during January 2017 to December 2018.According to the clinical practice and the patients’ intention,the study is divided into two groups:the combination of Huoxue Huayu Jiedu Recipe with Western medicine Group,and pure Western medicine Group.Four weeks is a course of treatment,and three courses of treatment are observed.Using SPSS 20 to analyse and compare the different node platelet counts for ET,the hemoglobin counts for PV respectively,the scores of traditional Chinese medical syndrome and the clinical response rate before and after the treatment.Finally evaluate the clinical efficacy of the two groups.ResultsEssential thrombocythemia(ET):1.The combination of Huoxue Huayu Jiedu Recipe with Western medicine Group:(1)After three courses of treatment,platelet count(PLT)decreased from(659.67±318.40)×109/L to(474.07±196.59)×109/L,with statistical difference(P<0.05).After each course of treatment,there are statistical differences between before and after treatment.,also the second and the first course of treatment,the third and the second course of treatment are statistically different(P<0.05).(2)The scores of TCM syndrome decreased from(16.00±5.92)before treatment to(3.93±2.5 5)after three courses of treatment,with statistical difference(P<0.05).(3)According to the Western medical evaluation,there are 1/15 cases effective,6/15 cases partially effective,and the overall response rate is 46.67%;(4)According to the TCM evaluation,there are 2/15 cases clinically relieved,9/15 cases markedly improved,2/15 cases effective,and the overall response rate is 86.67%.2.The pure Western Medicine Group:(4)After three courses of treatment,platelet count(PLT)decreased from(661.73±314.29)×109/L to(604.60±332.75)×109/L,with statistical difference(p<0.05);After each course of treatment,there are statistical differences between before and after treatment(P<0.05).There are no statistical differences between the second course and the first course,the third course and the second course of treatment(P>0.05).(2)The scores of TCM syndrome decreased from(15.47±5.83)before treatment to(14.07±5.87)after three courses of treatment,with statistical difference(P<0.05).(3)According to the Western medical evaluation,there are 0/15 cases effective,3/15 cases partially effective,and the overall response rate is 20.0%;(4)According to the TCM evaluation,there are 0/15 cases clinically relieved,0/15 cases markedly improved,3/15 cases effective,and the overall response rate is 20.0%.There is no statistical difference in the total effective rate between the two groups in the Western medical evaluation(P>0.05),but there is statistical difference in the total effective rate between the two groups in the TCM evaluation(P<0.05).Polycythemia vera(PV):1.The combination of Huoxue Huayu Jiedu Recipe with Western medicine Group:(1)After three courses of treatment,hemoglobin count(HGB)decreased from(183.75±16.50)g/L to(161.00±22.26)g/L,with statistical difference(P<0.05);After each course of treatment,there are statistical differences between before and after treatment,also the second and the first course of treatment is statistically different(P<0.05).There is no statistical difference between the third course and the second course of treatment(P>0.05).(2)The scores of TCM syndrome decreased from 17.50±3.82)before treatment to(4.50±3.85)after three courses of treatment,with statistical difference(P<0.05).(3)According to the Western medical evaluation,there are 1/8 cases complete remission,0/8 cases clinical remission,5/8 cases improved,and the overall response rate is 75.0%;(4)According to the TCM evaluation,there are 1/8 cases clinically relieved,5/8 cases markedly improved,1/8 cases effective,and the overall response rate is 87.50%.2.The pure Western medicine Group:(1)After three courses of treatment,hemoglobin count(HGB)decreased from(189.50±21.67)g/L to(167.88±31.36)g/L,with statistical difference(P<0.05);After the first and the third course of treatment,there are statistical differences between before and after treatment(P<0.05).There are no statistical difference between the second course of treatment and before treatment,also the second and the first course of treatment,the third and the second course of treatment(P>0.05).(2)The scores of TCM syndrome decreased from(18.38±4.44)before treatment to(3.63±2.83)after three courses of treatment,with statistical difference(P<0.05);(3)According to the Western medical evaluation,there are 0/8 cases complete remission,0/8 cases clinical remission,4/8 cases improved,and the overall response rate is 50.0%;(4)According to the TCM evaluation,there are 0/8 cases clinically relieved,0/8 cases markedly improved,4/8 cases effective,and the overall response rate is 50.0%.There is no statistical difference in the total effective rate between the two groups in the Western medical evaluation(P>0.05),but there is statistical difference in the total effective rate between the two groups in the TCM evaluation(P<0.05).ConclusionThe therapeutic effect of advisor’s Huoxue Huayu Jiedu Recipe on ET and PV treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine is obvious.After three courses of treatment,it has obvious advantages in PLT,HGB and clinical symptoms scores compared with Western medicine alone,which shows good compliance for patients.The results of this study provide practical clinical data for the treatment of MPD with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine,which needs to be confirmed by further large sample studies. |
