To investigate and analyze the basic prevalence of impacted teeth in orthodontic patients, and to enrich the clinical data of buried teeth.Cone Beam Computed Tomography(CBCT),was used to discuss the common position of impacted maxillary canines and the absorption of adjacent incisors. Methods:From July 2016 to February 2019,3115 patients with malocclusion were selected from orthodontic department of The First affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University. An epidemiological study was conducted on the prevalence、sex、age、 location and number of impacted teeth.Patients who had impacted maxillary canines but were unable to determine their location in the maxilla and whether or not they caused near-incisor root resorption were selected for observation through curved sections.CBCT was used to determine the position of the buried teeth in the maxilla, the relative position of the impacted canines and the adjacent incisors, and whether the root resorption and the severity of resorption occurred in the adjacent incisors. Results:The incidence of impacted teethorthodontic clinic was 13.7%.The incidence of buried teeth in female was higher than that in male. The difference was not statistically significant. The incidence of the maxillary burrow was much higher than that of the lower jaw,and the difference was statistically significant. The most common maxillary canines were maxillary incisors, followed by maxillary central incisors and maxillary lateral incisors.Single ambush accounted for up to 67.8%.The incidence of buried teeth in replacement period was the highest. The ratio of inverted impacted maxillary incisors was 25%.The average age of 40 ambushed patients with canines was 16.8 years. The average age of adjacent tooth resorption group was 18.5 years. The average age of adjacent unabsorbed teeth was 13.6 years 40 people,49 impacted teeth.(Unilateral 31,bilateral 9).There were 11 female patients with incisor resorption,15 males with incisor resorption in 4 patients,34 labial resorption(69.4%).There were 17(34.7%)impacted canines in adjacent incisors, and 34(69.4%)in 2.3.4 and 15(30.6%)in 0.1,respectively.The location of impacted teeth in maxillary bone is different, and the incidence of resorption of adjacent incisors is also different. Conclusion:the prevalence of impacted teeth in orthodontic outpatients is 13.7%.There was no significant difference between the sexes, but there was a significant difference in age, most of which was concentrated in the age of 8 to 14 years. In the place where it hanppened: the incidence of maxillary canines with buried teeth was the highest, followed by maxillary middle incisors.Buried teeth are mainly impacted by an ambush. There was no significant difference in the incidence rate between the left and right sides. The ambush of maxillary canines and maxillary central incisors is mainly unilateral ambush.Maxillary canines, mostly unilateral, often occur in the labial side. The incidence of near incisor resorption is related to the position, sex and age of the impacted canines, and lateral incisors are more likely to release absorption than middle incisors. It is necessary for orthodontists to know the location of the buried teeth and the situation of the adjacent teeth clearly. The clinical application of cbct provides a good guide for the ambushed teeth.
