| Background and ObjectiveAutism is a complex group of neurodevelopmental disorders that occur early in childhood and are characterized by limited patterns of behavior, interest or activity, and difficulties in social interaction.Autism is a lifelong illness, and the burden on children and families is very heavy.Because its cause is not clear, there is no specific treatment, and the current treatment for autism usually uses conventional comprehensive intervention. In recent years, emerging game therapies have also attracted people’s attention.Sandplay is one of the more used.Sandplay was founded by Dora Kraff. As an independent treatment system,it has been widely used in psychotherapy research abroad. In recent years,it has also been applied in China. Some experts and scholars have used it for the treatment of autism, and confirmed the advantages of sandplay in the treatment of autism. However, there are insufficient research systems, small sample size, and it is necessary to continue to improve its operating system through continuous practice, and a large number of empirical studies to explore its effectiveness. The purpose of this study is to explore the clinical value of sandplay combined with comprehensive intervention in the treatment of children with autism.Subjects and Methods1.Subjects: From September 2016 to March 2018,96 children with autism of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were selected as subjects. The subjects were divided into experimental group(48 cases)and control group(48 cases)by random number table method.2.Methods: The control group used conventional comprehensive intervention, including Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children, application of behavioral analysis and floor time therapy. The experimental group used sandplay therapy and conventional comprehensive intervention.3.Evaluation: The Autism Behavior Checklist(ABC)score, the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist(ATEC)score and the Chinese Version of Psycho-educational Profile(C-PEP)were used before treatment,3 months after treatment and 6 months after treatment, respectively.ResultsThe experimental group and the control group had different degrees of improvement after treatment for 3 months and 6 months after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).The total scores of ABC and ATEC scales in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group at 3 months and 6 months. The total score of C-PEP was significantly higher than that of the control group(p<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed a negative correlation with age and treatment effect(r =-0.482,p=0.001).Conclusions1.Sandplay combined with conventional comprehensive intervention is better than simple comprehensive intervention in the treatment of children with autism, which has a certain clinical value in the treatment of children with autism.2.The smaller the starting age of treatment, the better the effect of sandplay games.Advocating autism should be screened early, diagnosed early, and treated early. |
