Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)in the treatment of functional constipation(FC).To observe the effects of TEAS on the defecation time, stool characteristics, difficulty in defecation, anus bulge, incomplete sensation, frequency and abdominal distention of FC patients, and to explore the possible mechanism of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)for clinical application,in order to provide a new basis for clinical treatment. Methods:According to the diagnostic criteria, inclusion and discharge criteria,72 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,36 in each group. The patients were stimulated by gastrointestinal dynamometer at Xiawan,Tianshu,Shangjuxu and Dachangshu points for a total of 5 days. The patients in the treatment group were treated for 45 minutes each time, while those in the control group were treated for 15 minutes each time. Before and after treatment, the patients in the control group filled in the Statistical Constipation Score Scale. The vital signs were recorded and the data of the two groups before and after treatment were statistically analyzed. The SAS9.4 software was used to program and analyze the data. The x±s was used to describe the measured values and changes before and after treatment. All hypotheses were tested by two-side test.Take alpha = 0.05,P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results:The statistical results showed that:(1)After treatment, the constipation scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment. The constipation score of the treatment group decreased from 9.81±2.75 before treatment to 4.25±3.92 after treatment, and the constipation score of the control group was 10.81±3.10 before treatment. The scores were 6.78±4.12 after treatment. The P values in the constipation score group before and after treatment were less than 0.05,which was statistically significant, indicating that TEAS was effective in FC.The comparison between groups showed that the treatment group was better than the control group.(P =0.0095,P<0.01).The cure rate was 41.7%in the treatment group, and the total effective rate was 75%.The cure rate in the control group was 13.9%,and the total effective rate was 61.1%.The treatment group was better. After treatment, the symptoms of defecation time, stool traits, difficulty in defecation, anal bulge, incomplete sensation, frequency, and abdominal distension were lower than those before treatment. The P value was less than 0.05 after statistical calculation.Statistically significant;comparison between groups showed that the treatment group had a defecation time(P=0.1153,P>0.05),difficulty in defecation(P=0.1651,P>0.05),frequency of defecation(P=0.1195,P>0.05),bloating The improvement degree of(P=0.2375,P>0.05)was comparable to that of the control group, and there was no significant difference. In the treatment group, the improvement of stool traits(P=0.0458,P<0.05),anal bulge, andincomplete sensation(P=0.0009,P<0.001)was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05),especially in reducing anal bulge.Symptom scores were statistically calculated P=0.0009,which was statistically significant(P<0.01).It can be seen that the treatment group is better in improving stool traits, especially reducing anal bulge and incomplete sensation.(3)In the whole study observation, the vital signs of the two groups were stable before and after treatment, and no adverse events, allergic reactions, and adverse reactions occurred.Due to the short course of the study and the lack of follow-up,the conclusions are not representative.More research and observation are still needed on the safety of TEAS.Conclusion:(1)Transcutaneous acupoint electrncal stimulation is an effective treatment for fu.nctional constipation. It can reduce the time of defecation, change stool characteristics, reduce the difficulty of defecation, reduce anal bulge, incomplete feeling, increase the frequency of defecation, and relieve bloating.(2)Transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation for the treatment of functional constipation is safe.(3)Extend the time of single percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation treatment, and treat the functional constipation better.
