The Current Pharmacological Service Status Of Licensed Pharmacists In Hefei Retail Pharmacies

With the rapid development of social economy and improvement of people’s living standards,people have attached more importance to their own healthy problems with healthy awareness further popularized.People have begun to choose more social pharmacy for self-medication when faced with some common and chronic diseases.It can be seen that the retail pharmacies and pharmacy services have faced with new requirements and challenges whether in terms of social needs or the national policy.Purpose: Retail pharmacies have rapidly developed with good and bad phenomenons.This paper takes Hefei city as the survey sample to investigate and analyze demand situation of retail pharmacies as well as the pharmacy service in this region.In order to enhance the quality of pharmaceutical services to provide reference for safe,effective,reasonable and economical medication use,we explores the current problems existing in the process of pharmacy service in the retail pharmacies and proposes corresponding suggestions.Methods : To gather information,this paper mainly uses documentary methods and questionnaires and uses document retrieval tools to search for the development of pharmaceutical services at home and abroad,the development of licensed pharmacists,business condition of and other research data.Based on the research documents related to pharmacy service,we use random sampling method to make the questionnaire about pharmaceutical service of retail pharmacy,licensed pharmacists and the customer demand for pharmacy service in retail pharmacies,which involves the Shushan District,Yaohai District,Baohe District and Luyang District,with 180 licensed pharmacists,69 retail pharmacies and 420 retail pharmacies customers.180 questionnaires of licensed pharmacists were distributed.150 valid questionnaires were obtained with 83.33%validity.69 questionnaires of retail pharmacies were distributed.69 valid questionnaires were obtained with 100% validity.420 questionnaires of customer demand were distributed and 411 valid questionnaires were obtained.The questionnaire was 97.86%effective.The valid results of questionnaires are disposed for data entry and statistical analysis through Excel.Results:It can be seen from research results that the number of licensed pharmacists in Hefei retail pharmacies is insufficient and the registered licensed pharmacists almost possess a lower educational level with specialist degree and weak professional ability.In terms of pharmacy services content,they mainly provide prescription audit and medication guidance,but the developing project of pharmacy services is incomplete.It can be found in research with respect to influencing factors of pharmacy service that retail licensed pharmacists generally believe that the laws as well as regulations of pharmaceutical services and the attention of pharmacy owner to pharmacy service are all important factors for pharmacy services.From investigation of customer needs,it can be seen that customers expecting service is not well completed.Besides,the operators and drug buyers of retail pharmacies lack sufficient awareness to pharmacy service,and pharmacy service licensed pharmacists utilization is lower.Recommendations:The results of discussion show following questions about current pharmacological service status of licensed pharmacists in Hefei retail pharmacies: the licensed pharmacists provide pharmacy services with lacking of legal protection;professional pharmacists are lacked;pharmacists can not meet the needs of retail pharmacies;unreasonable drug using is common;the licensed pharmacists possess uneven quality and can not effectively guide the medicine use;pharmacy managers and the public lack the knowledge of pharmacy services;pharmacy services are not comprehensive and so on.According to the above problems,the author puts forward thefollowing suggestions: to establish the licensed pharmacists system,to clarify the licensed pharmacists duties;to strengthen the supervision of retail pharmacies;to punish severely pseudo licensed pharmacists;to promote the integration of medicine market resources in order to develop the chain rate;to rationalize the healthy use of medicine and change public health concept;to promote the combination of higher pharmacy education and pharmacy service talent cultivation;to optimize the examination of licensed pharmacists qualification;to strengthen the establishment of continuing education platform for licensed pharmacists;to enhance the pharmacy services content;to improve the pharmaceutical services quality;to enlarge the social publicity of licensed pharmacists;to increase the licensed pharmacists payment and so on.Conclusion : Currently,the retail pharmacies have still existed these problems in pharmacy services,which seriously restricted the development of retail pharmacies.It is also the important cause of the development of retail pharmacies in initial stage.To better meet the customer needs of pharmacy services,this paper suggests that the systematic basis and service content of pharmacy services should be redesigned,re-planned and completed to ensure the mutual development of retail pharmacies and licensed pharmacists construction.
