BackgroundMedicine is rich in humanity.With the development of biological technology,clinical medical level enhances unceasingly.Nevertheless,the technology attracts more attention than the patients.This caused a series of problems such as the conflict between doctors and patient,the unharmonious doctor-patient relationship,the hollow clinical diagnosis and treatment,and so on.Medical workers and patients are eager for the return of the medical humanities and constantly explore the solution to the current predicament.In such circumstances,Rita Charon,Columbia University professor,put forward the concept of Narrative Medicine in 2001.She tried to link literature and medicine through careful reading and writing parallel cases to improve the empathy and reflection ability of medical workers.There is less research about narrative medicine application in our country.Based on our previous work,this study uses a combination of qualitative research and quantitative research to study the effect of curriculum training of narrative medicine in TCM.Objective1 It aims to conclude the experience of the clinical practice of narrative medicine and assess the narrative ability of medical workers and the change of their working condition.2 It aims to explore and optimize the narrative medicine in TCM clinical practice.ContentThe research content mainly includes two parts.1 This study combines group discussion,expert opinion with the literatures retrieval by the keywords such as narrative,narrative medicine,Traditional Chinese Medicine,medical humanities,to determine the clinical medical workers as focus.At the same time,the interview outline for the objects is consummated.2 22 medical workers were selected to join in this study.After signing the informed consent,the objects of study need to fulfill the assessment during the test,including scales and interviews.Then the data and storage world be sorted and analyzed.MethodThis study used qualitative research and quantitative research methods together.In the preliminary experiment,the researchers tried to determine the semi-structured interview outline from literature query,expert consultation and doctors’interviews.The formal test contained three parts.In each part,the participants need to fill in the questionnaires and participated in the semi-structured interviews.This study used Excel and SPSS22.0 for statistical analysis and Nvivo12.0 for qualitative data analysis.At last.4 interviewees’ data and 35 reports of practice experience were incorporated as qualitative data.The Grounded Theory has been used for analyzing qualitative data.Results1 The interview transcripts have been analyzed and refined into two main classes:promoting the relationship and promoting reflection.The core category has been summarized into "the improvement of the awareness of medical workers".2 The reports of practice experience have been analyzed and refined into four main class:understanding of narrative medicine,the change of clinical diagnosis and treatment,the change of doctors’ self-perception,the problems in practice and suggestion.The core category has been summarized into the influence of the narrative medical practice.3 The result of scale analysis shows that there is statistical significance on Yin and Yang dimension.Conclusion1 The clinical practice of narrative medical is helpful to improve the narrative ability of doctors.2 The narrative ability is helpful to harmonious the relationship among doctors and patients,colleagues,and self.It can improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment process.3 Narrative medical practice have an impact on doctors’personality.4 There are some advices on the practice of narrative medicine,such as lengthening the course time interval,arranging flexible courses and learning style and adding more practical training.
