| Objectives:The purpose of the study was to systematically review the literature to evaluate the efficacy of different suspension materials in frontalis sling,to provide evidence on selection of suspension materials. Methods:Datebases including WanFang DATA,CNKI,VIP,Pubmed,Cochrane Library, and Embase were searched for the literature related to different suspension materials in frontalis sling over the past decade.Data were extracted from studies that matched our inclusion criteria.Statistical analysis was performed withStata 14.0 software. Results:Eventually 19 case series or comparative studies were enrolled, including 18 studies in English, and 1 in Chinese.Analysis results showed that the pooled prevalence of successful surgery and incidence of complications with Fascia Lata was respectively 86.9%(95%CI:80.6%-93.1%)and 23.5%(95%CI:14.1%-32.8%).ePTFE presented with the highest successful surgery prevalence of 91.1%(95%CI:82.9%-99.2%)and the lowest complication incidence of 20.6%(95%CI:6.0%-35.2%).Silicon held a successful surgery prevalence of 79.2%(95%CI:67.7%-90.7%)and the lowest complication incidence of 29.4%(95%CI:18.7%-40.1%).However,nylon monofilament Suture showed lowest successful surgery prevalence of 72.8%(95%CI:47.6%-90.8%)and highest complication incidence of 35.6%(95%CI:5.5%-66.8%).Conclusions:According to our analysis, compared with other suspension materials,ePTFE showed the best good cosmetic and functional results in frontalis sling. Thus,ePTFE could be the first choice in selecting proper suspension material. |
