Comparation Of Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation And Ballon Compression In The Treatment Of Recurrent Trigeminal Neuralgia

Objective:Retrospective case analysis:To invesitigate the clinical effect of PRT and PBC in the treatment of recuurrent trigeminal neuralgia after PRT。Methods:Retrospective analysis:from january 2017 to january2018,clinical date of 97 patients with recurrent TN after PRT in our hoapital were analyzed.78 patients received PRT and 36 patients were followed up,19patients underwent PBC and 18 were followed up.The operative effects and complications and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups.Results:The effective rates of PBC group and PRTgroup were 94.4%and 94.4%respectively.By chi-square test,Χ~2=0.54,P=0.59,P>0.05,There was no signifiant difference in the effective rate between the PRT group and PBCgroup,Postoperative recurrence rates were 42.7%in the PRT group and11.1%in the PBCgroup.By chi-square test,Χ~2=6.86,P=0.01,P<0.05,The recurrence rates of PRTgroup and PBCgroup were statistically significant.The recurrence rate of PRTgroup was higher than PBC group.The incidence of facial hypoesthesia in PBCgroup and PRTgroup was 100%and 66%,respectively.Χ~2=7.71,P=0.005,P<0.05,The difference in the incidence of facial hypoesthesia between PBC group and PRT group was statistically significant,and the incidence of facial hypoesthesia in PBC group was higher than that in PRT group.The incidence of masticatory muscle weakness in PB C group andPRT group was 100%and 30.5%,respectively.Χ~2=23.27,P=0.00,P<0.05,The incidence of masticatory muscle weakness in PB C group was higher than that in PRTgroup.The incidence of oral herpes in PBC group and PRT group was5.5%and 0.00%,respectively.Χ~2=2.03,P=0.33,P>0.05,no significant difference was found between the two groups.The incidence of corneal non-ablation in PBC group and PRT group was 16%and 0.0%,respectively.Χ~2=6.35,P=0.03,P<0.05.The incidence of corneal non-ablation in the PBC group was higher than that in the PRT group.Conclusion:1.Both PRT and PBC can effectively treat recurrent trigeminal neuralgia after PRT surgery to some extent.2.The recurrence rate of PRT group was higher than that of PBC group.3.There were fewer facial hypoesthesia,masticatory muscle weakness and corneal discomfort complications in PRT group than in PBC group...
