| Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of electro-acupuncture at points Weizhong and Feiyang in the treatment of female overactive bladder due to Kidney-Qi insufficiency. Methods: 108 eligible female patients with renal insufficiency type of overactive bladder were randomly divided into three groups by lottery,36 cases in each group, which were divided into drug group(Tolterodine + placebo sham acupuncture),electroacupuncture group(electro-acupuncture at Zhongzhong and Feiyang points +placebo),combined treatment group(Tolterodine + electro-acupuncture at Zhongzhong and Feiyang points). The three groups were treated for 8 weeks. The OABSS scores and urination Diaries of 7 consecutive days before and after treatment were analyzed. Results: The OABSS of patients in drug group,electro-acupuncture group and combined treatment group were significantly improved before and after treatment(P<0.05)(9.6+1.9 VS 6.1+1.6 in drug group,9.7+1.7 VS 6.2+1.5 in electro-acupuncture group,9.5+1.8 VS 4.9+1.3 in combined treatment group),and the urination indexes of patients in urination diary were significantly improved after treatment compared with those before treatment.(P<0.05).(2)The improvement of OABSS and urination diary in drug group and electro-acupuncture group was similar before and after treatment, but there was no significant difference;the improvement of OABSS and urination diary in combined treatment group was better than that in drug group and electro-acupuncture group.(3)There were no obvious adverse reactions in the electro-acupuncture group. The incidence of adverse reactions in the drug group was 67.6%,and that in the combined treatment group was 45.7%.Conclusion: The clinical symptoms of female kidney-qi deficiency OAB can be improved in electro-acupuncture group, drug group and combined treatment group;the curative effect of electro-acupuncture group is similar to that of drug group;and the synergistic effect of electro-acupuncture combined with drug treatment can alleviate adverse reactions. |
