Objective:We observed the clinical effects of moxa cone moxibustion combined with conventional western medicine on rheumatoid arthritis,to explore the advantage clinical treatments of RA.Methods:66 patients with RA were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The control group was given methotrexate tablets(7.5mg once a week),folic acid tablets(10mg once a week)or leflunomide tablets(10mg once a day). The treatment group was treated with moxa cone moxibustion on the basis of routine western medicine treatment in the control group, twice a week,4 times as a course of treatment,a total of 4 courses. After treatment,ACR20,ACR50,ACR70 were used to evaluate the overall improvement rate of the two groups.DAS28,SDAI,CDAI,CPRI-RA scales were used to evaluate the disease activity of the two groups of RA patients before and after treatment,VAS score and morning stiffness score were used to evaluate the joint pain and symptoms of morning stiffness in two groups of RA patients. The quality of life and anxiety of the two groups of RA patients were evaluated by HAQ,SAS.Tested and observed the changes of routine clinical test index and serum inflammatory index before and after treatment.Results:1.Baseline analysis: The two groups were consistent and comparable on gender, age, course of disease, clinical symptoms, disease activity, quality of life, routine test indicators, serum inflammatory indicators(P>0.05).2.Effects of moxa cone moxibustion on the overall improvement rate of RA:compared between groups, the improvement rate of ACR20 in the treatment group was 79.4%(27/34),which was higher than that in the control group(53.1%(17/32),P<0.05);The improvement rate of ACR50 in the treatment group was 41.2%(14/34)which was higher than that in the control group(15.6%(5/32),P<0.05),and the improvement rate of ACR70 were 14.7%(5/34)and 3.1%(1/32)(P>0.05)in the twogroups.3.Effects of moxa cone moxibustion on disease activity in patients with RA(1)Intra-group comparison: DAS28,SDAI,CDAI,and CPRI-RA were both significantly improved in the two groups of RA patients(P<0.01).(2)Comparison between two groups: After treatment, the improvement of DAS28,SDAI,CDAI and CPRI-RA in the treatment group were better than the control group(P<0.05).4.Effects of moxa cone moxibustion on clinical symptoms of patients with RA(1)Intra-group comparison: the VAS scores and morning stiffness scores of RA patients in both groups were significantly improved after treatment(P<0.01).(2)Comparison between two groups: after treatment, the improvement of VAS score and morning stiffness score in the treatment group were better than the control group(P < 0.01).5.Effects of moxa cone moxibustion on quality of life and anxiety in patients with RA(1)Intra-group comparison: HAQ of the two groups of patients with RA both improved significantly after treatment(P<0.05),SAS of the treatment group improved after treatment(P<0.01),and SAS of the control group did not improve after treatment(P>0.05).(2)Comparison between groups: After treatment, the improvement of HAQ in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in SAS between the two groups(P>0.05).6.Effects of moxa cone moxibustion on clinical routine test indexes in patients with RA(1)Intra-group comparison: The laboratory indexes of ESR,CRP and RF of the two groups were both improved after treatment(P<0.05),the NLR,PLR were not improved(P>0.05).(2)Comparison between groups: After treatment there was no significant difference between the two groups in the improvement of ESR,CRP,RF,NLR and PLR(P>0.05).7.Effects of moxa cone moxibustion on serum inflammatory markers in patients with RA(1)Intra-group comparison: the serum levels of IL-1β,TNF-α and VEGF were decreased after treatment in two groups of RA patients(P<0.05).(2)Comparison between groups: after treatment, the levels of IL-1β,TNF-α and VEGF in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Moxa cone moxibustion can improve the overall improvement rate of RA treated by conventional western medicine, decrease the disease activity of RA,ameliorate the clinical symptoms of RA patients, improve the quality of life of RA patients and ameliorate the anxiety state of RA patients.2.Moxa cone moxibustion combined with conventional western medicine can improve the clinical efficacy of RA therapy, which may be related to the decrease of inflammatory factors in the serum of RA patients.
