Various studies have demonstrated comparable and successful fertilization,ongoing pregnancy and implantation rates when frozen-thawed sperm was used during Assisted reproductive technology(ART).Today there are different techniques and modifications that can be used to preserve human sperm.This study will evaluate an overview of cryopreservation of spermatozoa,focusing on novel research and the most advanced techniques using efficient carriers and adaptable freezing rates.Focus is on LSL micro straw and its modifications which has been proved to be successful and helpful in ART clinics,sperm banks and men’s health research.Considering that traditional and current carriers are not enough successful in really rare and especially single sperm cell freezing,we used LSL micro straw and different modifications to show it benefits in IVF laboratory for better recovery rate and safer storing in ART clinics and sperm banks.Objective: To evaluate the freezing and recovery rate,and other parameters,of LSL straw,a novel carrier,for rare sperm cryopreservation.Patients in this study: Infertile males with oligospermia and azoospermia along with health donors.Main outcome measure(s):The recovery rate of rare sperm cryopreservation using novel micro LSL carrier was evaluated,along with the freezing rate during nitrogen vapour fumigation.Morphology evaluation of the sperm preserved was included.Result(s):It was proved that sperm cryopreservation using LSL straw is satisfied with a high recovery and faster freezing rate.No significant difference on morphology changing was observed compared with the sperm cryopreserved using other carriers.Conclusion(s):LSL straw is an ideal carrier for cryopreservation of rare sperm.Modified LSL micro straw,without cover and holder is shown to be more efficient and accurate inhigh recovery rate of rare sperm cryopreservation process because of small volume and surface of the inner tube,and it is confirmed thatcan accelerate low-temperature conduction during freezing.Percentage of successful ICSI and pregnancy rate with frozen sperm,in case of carefully modified freezing rates and using LSL micro straw is enough high as those with fresh sperm.
