| Objective: Observe the safety and clinical efficacy of myofascial trigger point hegu n eedling in the treatment of lumbar and buttocks myofascial pain syndrome(LB MPS).Evaluate the similarities and difference of efficacy between myofascial trigger point hegu needling and traditional acupuncture in the treatment of LB MPS.Methods: A randomized,single-blind,controlled study was conducted in 72 patients with LBMPS who met the inclusion criteria. The patients were randomly assig ned to myofascial trigger point hegu needling group(MTr P-N group,n=36)and traditional acupuncture group(Ac P group,n=36).The routine acupoints of low back pain + myofascial trigger point hegu needling were selected in MTr P-N g roup, and the routine acupoints of low back pain + Ashi points traditional acu puncture were selected in Ac P group. Both groups were treated with lumbar and buttocks stretching exercises, once every other day,a total of 10 times, and f ollowed up one month after the end of the course of treatment. Before the first treatment,on the day of the end of the course of treatme nt and 1 month after the end of the course of treatment, the patients in the tw o groups were scored with Visual Analog score scale(VAS)and Roland-Morris disability questionnaire(RDQ),respectively.According to the score of each ti me point, the similarities and differences of the two intervention measures in t he treatment of LBMPS were compared. Results: 1.In MTr P-N group,32 cases completed the test and 4 cases fell off.In Ac P group,31 cases completed the test and 5 cases fell off.The difference of baseline data in this study was not statistically significant, but comparable.2.After the course of treatment, the cure-remarkable-effectiveness rate of MTr P-N group and Ac P group were 65.62% and 35.48%,respectively,and the total effective rates were 93.75% and 83.87%,respectively.Chi-square test s howed that there was significant difference in the cure-remarkable-effectiven ess rate between the two groups(P<0.05).3.In terms of VAS score, the repeated measurement analysis of variance was used to compare the observation time points between the MTr P-N group an d the Ac P group, and there was significant difference between the two grou ps(P<0.01).Independent sample t-test was used in MTr P-N group and Ac P group after treatment and follow-up,and there was significant difference(P<0.01).4.In terms of RDQ score, the repeated measurement analysis of variance was used to compare the observation time points between the MTr P-N group an d the Ac P group, and there was significant difference between the two grou ps(P<0.01).The independent sample t test was used to compare the MTr PN group and the Ac P group, and there was a statistical difference(P<0 05).Conclusions: 1.Myofascial trigger point hegu needling and traditional acupuncture are effective and safe in the treatment of lumbar and buttocks myofascial pain syndrome.2.Myofascial trigger point hegu needling is superior to traditional acupuncture in relieving pain and dysfunction in patients with lumbar and buttocks myofascial pain syndrome, and myofascial trigger point hegu needling is more suitable for the treatment of lumbar and buttocks myofascial pain syndrome. |
