Clinical Observation Of Jiaji Acupoint Catgut Embedding Combined With Pregabalin On Treatment For Postherpetic Neuralgia

Objective:This study is to observe and evaluate the clinical efficacy between Jiaji acupoint catgut embedding combined with pregabalin and pregabalin only in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia using randomized controlled method.The aim is to explore a new treatment method for postherpetic neuralgia.Methods:A total of 60 patients with postherpetic neuralgia within the standard were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group by random number table method,with 30 patients in each group.The observation group was treated by jiaji acupoint catgut embedding combined with pregabalin,and the control group was treated by pregabalin only,for a total of28 days.Catgut embedding were carried out every 14 days,twice in total.the dose of pregabalin is 75 mg twice a day.We could use the changes of visual analogue scale(VAS)between before and after treatment to evaluate the pain relief of patients and as the main index of efficacy evaluation.The other observation indexes included the pain rating index(PRI)、present pain intensity(PPI)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI).Results:1.Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the comparison of gender,age,course of disease,and the score of PRI,VAS,PPI and PSQI between the two groups(P>0.05).2.After treatment,VAS,PRI,PPI and PSQI scores of the two groups were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.01),but the difference between the observation group and the control group after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The curative effect of the observation group was 53.33% and that of the control group was 28.57%.The difference was statistically significant according to rank sum test(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Both of the treatments can relieve the pain intensity of patients effectively,but the effect of Jiaji acupoint catgut embedding combined with pregabalin is better than that of pregabalin only in the aspect of pain symptom.2.The effect of Jiaji acupoint catgut embedding combined with pregabalin is better than that of pregabalin only in the aspect of improving the pain nature,emotional state and sleep quality of patients.
