Background: tuberculosis is one of the major global public health problems that seriously threaten human health. In 2017,the WHO global tuberculosis report showed that Somalia is one of the 7 countries with the highest burden of TB diseases worldwide.Tuberculosis causes about 10 million health problems every year.In the past five years, tuberculosis is the main cause of death caused by single infection factor, which is higher than HIV / AIDS.Objective is to o assess different treatment outcomes of all TB patients and associated factors in Somalia utilizing a case study of Galkayo city Puntland Somalia,to establish the relationship between TB treatment outcome and associated variables,to find out the effect of treatment outcome tuberculosis on community and nation and to recommend mitigating factors to prevent and control the TB better further. Methods: from January 2014 to January 2017,the tuberculosis patients in the primary health care center of Galkayo Somalia, and the data of tuberculosis patients in Nanjing were investigated and studied.Epi Data 3.1 software was used to establish database entry data, and SPSS 20 was used for statistical analysis. The main risk factors affecting the outcome of tuberculosis treatment were analyzed by chi square test and logistic regression, and the characteristics of the change trend of tuberculosis epidemic in galkayo city. Results: a total of 400 tuberculosis patients in the primary health care center of Galkayo city were surveyed.Male among them were 262(65.5%)and 138(34.5%)women with a mean age of 37.1 years of age,350 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis(87.5%),50 cases of extra pulmonary tuberculosis(12.5%),223 cases(55.8%)were new onset patients,177 cases(44.2%)were retreatment. The Success rate(cured and treatment completed rate)was 85% while 15% was unsuccessful(treatment failed and defaulted).Treatment outcome 141(35.2%)were treatment completed 199(49.8%)were cured 39(9.7%)were treatment defaulted and 21(5.3%)of treatment failed.Multi factor analysis found that age, home address, living habits, place of receiving treatment, symptoms, and type of patients, knowledge of tuberculosis, diabetes, and frequency of treatment were the main factors affecting the treatment of tuberculosis. The risk of unsuccessful treatment outcome, age group between 25-44 which OR 2.379,95%CI(1.145-4.943),and(p-value=0.020).while the age group older than 45~ were highest risk of unsuccessful compared to the two age groups OR 4.000(1.611-9.931)with(p-value 0.003).By comparing the mortality of tuberculosis patients in hospital,it was found that age and HIV are the main factors that lead to the death of the patients, and with the increase of age,the mortality of the patients is increasing.A total of 11004 cases of tuberculosis in Nanjing were investigated in Nanjing, including 4214(38.3%)in 2015,3891(35.4%)in 2016,2899(26.3%)in 2017,7607(69.1%)and 3397(30.9%)for women;the average age was 48.2 years and the age ranged from 1 to 97.6058(55.1%)cases were diagnosed clinically and 4336(39.4%)were confirmed cases. Conclusion: the study found that the treatment failure rate of Somali TB patients was high.Age,home address, living habits, place of receiving treatment, symptoms, and type of patients, knowledge of tuberculosis, diabetes, and frequency of treatment are the main factors affecting the treatment of tuberculosis. Therefore, more targeted prevention and intervention measures should be carried out according to the main risk factors affecting the outcome of TB treatment.
