With the development of medical technology and the improvement of people’s living standards,patients and their families have increasingly strong demand for humanistic care for nursing staff.However,the present nursing condition is more and more inclined to emphasize the technology rather than the humanity.Social problems such as the tension between doctors and patients and the decrease of people’s satisfaction with the medical industry contrast sharply with the rapid development of medical technology.The improvement of nursing staff’s humanistic care ability is the direction of the development of nursing profession,the necessary requirement of building the harmonious relationship between nurse and patient,and the inherent demand of nursing growth.In this paper,483 nursing students in a medical school of the author were evaluated with self-compiled general information questionnaire,Caring Ability Inventory(CAI),Emotional Intelligence Scale(EIS),and Supportive Communicative Scale(SCS).The research results showed that the total score of humanistic care ability of the nursing students in secondary vocational schools was 178.08±14.98,the score of cognitive dimension was 71.07±8.94,the score of courage demension was 49.64±9.654,and the score of patience dimension was 57.38±5.67.The total score and each dimension score are all lower than the average level offoreign countries.Compared with domestic standard,it is at a lower level.The humanity ability of secondary vocational nursing students need to be improved urgently.In terms of factors affecting the improvement of caring ability of secondary nursing students,emotional intelligence,communication ability,caring environment are positively correlated with humanistic caring ability of secondary nursing students.Based on the results of the investigation,the reasons that hinder the improvement of humanistic care ability of secondary vocational nursing students are mainly as follows: insufficient attention to humanistic care education of secondary vocational nursing students,scarce caring environment,and weak emotional perception ability and caring courage of secondary vocational nursing students.On the basis of consulting relevant literature and my teaching practice,this study puts forward three possible suggestions to improve the caring ability of secondary vocational nursing students from four aspects: humanistic caring education,caring atmosphere,caring situation creation and professional nursing care education.1.Pay attention to humanistic care education for secondary vocational nursing students.To reform the existing education mode of humanistic care for nursing students in secondary vocational schools from the aspects of educational purpose,form,content and evaluation mode of humanistic care,so as to help nursing students in secondaryvocational schools improve their overall care awareness and cultivate their care spirit.2.Create caring atmosphere.Establish multi-directional caring relationship groups with caring teacher-student relationship as the main body,caring family relationship and peer relationship as the auxiliary,focusing on the time and space of caring.To provide a caring learning and living environment for vocational nursing students to care for nurturing care.3.Create caring environment.In the context of meaningful caring scenarios,nursing students in secondary vocational schools can perceive caring,realize caring and practice caring.4.To infiltrate the spirit of nursing care into the nursing curriculum and practice of secondary vocational nursing students and help them learn to give professional care to patients.
