| Objective:The performances of large optic zone IOL(Softec IO)and normal optic zone IOL(AR40e)were compared after cataract surgery.The visual quality of the two IOL was evaluated using Optical Quality Analysis System.We used Pentacam anterior segment analyzer to collect the anterior chamber depth after dilation.Method:This study included 31 patients(34eyes)who underwent cataract phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in the Tianjin Eye Hospital from June 2018 to January 2019.Patients were divided into two groups,AR40 e group(18people 20eyes)and SoftecIO group(13people 14eyes).We used optical quality analysis system to examine the objective scatter index,MTF cutoff frequency and vision at three contrast levels(100%,20%,9%)of the patients before surgery,1 day after surgery,1 week after surgery,and 1 month after surgery.So we can get objective visual quality of patients after two intraocular lens implantations.At the same time,the glare contrast sensitivity of patients 1 month after surgery was examined,and the performances of two intraocular lenses in glare were compared.The Pentacam anterior segment analyzer was used to measure the depth of the anterior chamber of two intraocular lenses before surgery,1 day,1 week,and 1 month after surgery.The uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA)was collected before surgery,1 day after surgery,1 week after surgery,and 1 month after surgery to compare the subjective visual quality between two IOLs.Above data was compiled and analyzed using SPSS 20 statistical analysis software.Result: 1.There was no significant difference in the depth of anterior chamber between the AR40 e and Softec IO patients before surgery,1 day,1 week,and 1 month after surgery.The depth of the anterior chamber tends to be stable.2.Patients with AR40 e and Softec IO had a statistically significant difference in MTF cut-off frequency 1 day(p=0.022),1 week(p=0.028),and 1 month after surgery(p=0.017).There was a statistically significant difference in 100% visual acuity between the two groups at 1 day postoperatively(p=0.004),1 week postoperatively(p=0.003),and 1 month postoperatively(p=0.009).There was a statistically significant difference in 20% visual acuity between the two groups at 1 day postoperatively(p=0.007),1 week postoperatively(p=0.008),and 1 month postoperatively(p=0.004).There was a statistically significant difference in 9% visual acuity between the two groups at 1 day postoperatively(p=0.046),1 week postoperatively(p=0.015),and 1 month postoperatively(p=0.040).There was no significant difference in the objective scatter index between the two groups before surgery,1 day,1 week,and 1 month after surgery.3.Patients with AR40 e and Softec IO had no statistically significant difference in visual acuity in preoperative(p=0.868),1 day postoperatively(p=0.20),and 1 week postoperatively(p=0.198).The difference of 1 month postoperatively was statistically significant(p=0.039),and AR40e(0.81±0.22)had better visual acuity than Softec IO(0.66±0.18).There was no significant difference in the sensitivity of the operative eyes and binocular glare between two IOLs in 3cpd,6cpd,12 cpd and 18 cpd in 1 month after operation.4.There were no significant differences in age,corneal endothelium count,axial length and intraocular lens diopter between the two groups.Conclusion 1.The two IOLs behave similarly in terms of IOL stability,and the Softec IO’s large optical zone and one-piece design increase the stability of the capsule of the IOL.2.In the aspect of reducing the occurrence of glare,the AR40 e group has more glare complaints,indicating that SoftecIO’s large optical zone design may have certain advantages in reducing postoperative glare.3.In terms of objective visual quality,AR40 e outperforms SoftecIO.This suggests that the size of optical zone may not be a key factor affecting the objective visual quality after surgery,but the MTF cutoff frequency is related to age.The age difference between the two groups can also lead to this result,and further research is needed.4.In terms of subjective visual quality,the two intraocular lenses behave similarly.And the postoperative visual acuity is greater than 0.5 at each stage,which indicates that both IOLs can obtain better visual acuity after implantation. |
