| Objective(1)To survey the elderly Vitamin D nutrition condition in Shanghai area.(2)To explore the potential relationship between the elderly bone metabolism and atherosclerosis disease by detecting the level of serum25-hydroxyvitamin D3(25-OH-D3)and osteoprotegerin(OPG).Methods(1)Three hundred and twenty-nine senile out patients and in patients in the in the Geriatric Ward,Ruijin Hospital,Medical School of Shanghai Jiaotong University were selected in this study.(2)The general information about patients were collected by inquiring questions.(3)Fasting blood-glucose,blood lipid,liver,kidney function and other biochemical indicators were measured by using automatic biochemical analyzer.(4)The serum level of 25-OH-D and OPG were detected by using ELISA.(5)The presence of peripheral artery atheromatous plaque were cleared by using doppler ultrasound.Results(1)The mean level of serum 25-OH-D in all patients was47.11±17.29 nmol/L.And the level of serum 25-OH-D was on the decline with increasing age.The vitamin D deficiency was accounted for 58.1%,and the vitamin D insufficiency was 37.1% of all.(2)The concentration of the serum 25-OH-D in atherosclerosis disease group was significantly lower than in the control group(P<0.05),and the cerebral infarction group reduced most obviously.While the level of serum osteoprotegerin was significantly higher in atherosclerosis disease group than in the control group(P<0.05),and CAD group was the highest(P < 0.01).(3)The proportion of atherosclerosis disease in 25-OH-D deficient group and insufficient group were significantly higher than 25-OH-D sufficient(P < 0.01).(4)The correlation analysis showed AS was negatively related with the serum25-OH-D level,while it was positively related with the serum level of OPG.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that serum osteoprotegerin and 25-OH-D were independent relative factors for atherosclerosis disease.Conclusion(1)The elderly vitamin D nutritional status is not optimistic in Shanghai area.vitamin D deficient and vitamin D insufficient have a high proportion of all,and its incidence increased with age.(2)The level of the serum 25-OH-D in atherosclerosis disease group wassignificantly declined,and the cerebral infarction group reduced most obviously.Low level of vitamin D is closely related to atherosclerosis disease.(3)The level of serum osteoprotegerin was significantly elevated in atherosclerosis disease group,and CAD group was the highest.It may be a protection for the body.(4)The old bone metabolism is associated with atherosclerosis disease development.It can partly to slow the progress of the atherosclerosis disease if early given vitamin D supplements and dynamic of serum vitamin D level for the bone metabolism disorders. |
