| Background and objectives: On January 1,2018,the AJCC(American Joint Committee on Cancer)8th edition staging system was launched globally. The ER,PR,Her2,and histological grades were integrated into the 8th prognosis stage on the basis of TNM staging. To explore the clinical significance and prognostic factors of breast cancer staging system in AJCC 8th edition breast cancer staging system. Methods: Retrospective analysis of clinical pathological data of 726 breast cancer patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from June 1,2011 to December 30,2012.All patients were female, aged 26-82 years old.Anatomical staging and prognosis staging were performed according to the AJCC 8th edition breast cancer staging system, and the two staging were compared. The 5-year overall survival rate was calculated by Kaplan-Meier method.Univariate analysis of the correlation between clinicopathological features and prognosis was performed using the Log-rank test. Results: All patients were followed up for 1-90 months, with a median follow-up of 85 months and a survival rate of 92.6%.Univariate analysis showed that prognosis staging, anatomical staging,T,N,M,G grading,ER,PR,molecular typing, and location had an effect on survival(p<0.05).Of the 726 patients,243 anatomical staging and prognosis did not change,60 patients failed to stage prognosis due to stage loss, but 423 patients had two stages of comparison, including 189 prognosis staging,234 The prognosis stage is up.There were significant differences in the changes of different prognosis stages and anatomical staging(x2=407.284,p<0.05).Compared with anatomical staging, the 8th edition of prognosis can better predict the survival prognosis of breast cancer patients, but there are still some shortcomings. Some patients failed to follow the guidelines for the corresponding prognosis, and the prognosis of these patients needs to be improved. Conclusion: Anatomical staging, prognosis staging, lymph node metastasis, molecular typing, and hormone receptor expression in breast cancer are associated with prognosis. The difference between prognosis staging and anatomical staging of AJCC 8th edition of breast cancer patients deserves clinical attention. |
