Objective: Observation of penehyclidine hydrochloride injection as preoperative medication of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP),The effect on inhibiting intestinal peristalsis and relieving oddi sphincter spasm.Materials and Methods: Sixty patients with ASA I-II,undergoing elective ERCP were randomly divided into three groups: group A: saline group;group B: atropine group;group C: penehyclidine hydrochloride group; Before operation, intravenous injection of equal capacity saline(group A),atropine 0.01 mg/kg(group B),penehyclidine hydrochloride 0.01 mg/kg(group C),intraoperative blood pressure, heart rate, pulse oximetry index, and the number of heart rate >90 beats / min.The number of duodenal contractions, the time of intubation of the bile duct, and whether the intubation was successful. The number of patient who was diagnosed with dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting, and tachycardia. Results: There were no significant differences in age, weight, preoperative heart rate, mean arterial pressure, and pulse oximetry between the three groups.Heart rate and mean arterial pressure were significantly higher in the atropine group 10 minutes after administration than in the saline group(P<0.05),after administration of the penehyclidine hydrochloride group, there was no significant difference compared with the saline group, and was significantly lower than the atropine group(P<0.05).Compared with the saline group, the duodenal contraction score and bile duct intubation time were significantly lower in the atropine group and the penehyclidine hydrochloride group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups. The number of cases in the atropine group greater than 90 beats/min was significantly higher than that in the saline group and the penehyclidine hydrochloride group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the penehyclidine hydrochloride group and the saline group. There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting and tachycardia. Conclusion: Both penehyclidine hydrochloride and atropine can effectively inhibit duodenal peristalsis, relieve oddi sphincter spasm, and shorten the time required for the guidewire to be placed into the duodenal papillary muscle opening.Compared with atropine, penehyclidine hydrochloride has an advantage in maintaining heart rate stability and is more suitable as an anesthetic before ERCP surgery.
