Objective:To determine the correlation between the prevalence and meteorological factors in Wuhu area of China. Methods : A retrospective review of patients from Wuhu diagnosed with pediatric intussusception from April 2014 to March 2018 at The First Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College was performed. The information of pediatric intussusception children admitted to our hospital from April 1,2014 to March 31,2018 was obtained by the software engineer of hospital HIS office software was collected, and the Excel table was generated and verified by the author.Related clinical data consisting of age, sex, chief complaint of admission record(on behalf),recent residential address of onset, diagnostic data of admission and admission, time of onset(year / month / day),treatment and prognosis, and so on.Related climatic data consisting of wind speed, precipitation, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, and the daily minimum air teperature, average air temperature, maximum air temperature.Principal component analyses from statistical software SPSS 20.0.Influences of meteorological factors on pediatric intussusception in the city of Wuhu were estimated by using two methods, including genemlized additive model(GAM)and times series analysis from the mgcv of R 3.4.3 statistical software. Results: In our study, the average daily incidence of intussusception in children in Wuhu area of China was 1.02,and the daily maximum incidence of intussusception was5.The daily average values of diurnal temperature difference, average air pressure, precipitation, wind speed and relative humidity were 6.741 ℃,760.621 mm Hg,4.540 mm,2.689m/s,77.303%.The incidence of intussusception in children in Wuhu area of China is mainly concentrated in the age of 5 ~ 11 months, with a seasonal trend, and the peak is from May to June every year. The influences of various meteorological factors on the occurrence of pediatric intussusception displayed the lag effect. The results indicated that daily temperature difference posed the largest influence on the occurrences of pediatric intussusception, followed by relative humidity, mean air pressure, precipitation, and wind speed. The change of temperature within 3 days before onset and the daily temperature are related with the incidence of acute intussusception. It is speculated that meteorological conditions such as temperature may affect the occurrence and development of pediatric intussusception. Conclusions : In our study,it is speculated that meteorological conditions such as temperature, humidity, and air pressure may affect the occurrence and development of pediatric intussusception. The high incidence of intussusception in children may be in the environment where the temperature daily range is large, the average air pressure is low and the relative humidity is low.Meteorological factors may be only a factor in the pathogenesis of intussusception in children, and it may be affected by individual immunity, dietary factors, intestinal anatomical factors and other factors. |
