Objective:To investigate the short-term effect of interventional therapy for patients with malignant central airway stenosis under bronchoscopy. Methods:Retrospective analysis of clinical data of 78 patients with malignant central airway stenosis admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from December 2016 to December 2018.All patients underwent bronchoscopy intervention, such as argon plasma coagulation,high-frequency electrosurgical unit, stent placement, cryotherapy, balloon dilation, etc.observe the clinical symptoms and signs, airway obstruction, shortness of breath index,KPS(physical status score)score,PS(physical status score)before and after interventional therapy Differences in various observation indicators,as well as postoperative adverse reactions.Results:(1)Excluding the cases with incomplete observation indicators,a total of 78 cases were counted.Among them, there were 66 males and 12 females with a male to female ratio of 5.5:1 and a median age of 52±9.34 years.(2)The pathological types of patients enrolled were classified into squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, metastatic carcinoma, and mixed cancer, accounting for 58.97%,20.51%,10.26%,and 3.85%,respectively.Squamous cell carcinoma is predominant.(3)In staging,8 patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma,T1,T2,T3,accounted for 37.5%,37.5%,25%;squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, metastatic cancer, mixed Seventy patients with cancer were in stageⅢ and IV,accounting for 48.72%and 44.87%,respectively.In addition to patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma, other patients were in the advanced stage.(4)Tumors occurred in the trachea, left main bronchus, right main bronchus, right middle bronchus and patients with two or more sites, accounting for 23.08%,20.51%,25.64%,10.26%,20.51%,respectively.More than the left side, the lesion often involves more than 2 parts.(5)According to the clinical symptoms and physical severity classification, the shortness of breath index,KPS(physical status score)score,PS(physical status score)and efficacy evaluation, after interventional treatment were better than before intervention, more statistical Difference(P<0.05).(6)The total effective rate of interventional therapy in this study was 98.7%.Conclusion:(1)Interventional treatment of malignant central airway stenosis by bronchoscopy can quickly relieve airway obstruction, improve clinical symptoms,KPS(physical status score),PS(physical status score)and shortness of breath index, etc.,which can alleviate patient suffering.Improve the quality of life of patients and have a good short-term effect on patients.(2)Patients with malignant central airway stenosis are well tolerated by conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy after interventional therapy and can win time for further comprehensive treatment.(3)After partial interventional treatment for patients with malignant central airway stenosis, clear source of tumor can guide the second-stage surgical radical surgery and prolong the patient’s life cycle.
