| Objective:To compare the curative effect of unilateral or bilateral percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)on thoracolumbar osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF).Methods: Patients diagnosed as fresh thoracolumbar OVCF during 2018,6-2019,6 were randomly divided into unilateral group(16 cases,17 vertebrae)and bilateral group(12cases,13 vertebrae)by using random number table method. The pain visual analogue score(VAS),Oswestry dysfunction index(ODI),the height of the anterior and middle line of the injured vertebra, the local Cobb angle in the coronal and sagittal plane were compared between the two groups before operation;compared the differences of evaluation indexes between the two groups within 3 days,1 month,3 months and 6 months after operation.Meanwhile, compared the differences of evaluation indexes before and after operation in the same group.Results:28 patients were operated successfully and followed up for 6 months.Compared with preoperative stages, there were significant differences in VAS score,ODI score, local Cobb angle in coronal and sagittal plane between the two groups in Postoperative stages(P<0.05).At all stages after operation there was no significant difference in VAS score and recovery of midline height between unilateral and bilateral groups(P>0.05);In terms of the ODI score, the recovery value of the anterior heigh and the local Cobb angle in the coronal and sagittal plane of the injured vertebra after operation, bilateral puncture was better(P<0.05);At 6 months postoperatively, the recovery of anterior height,Cobb angle in coronal and sagittal plane were correlated with ODI score(r> 0.4).Conclusion:For patients with fresh thoracolumbar OVCF,PKP can effectively relieve the pain symptoms, but the effect of bilateral puncture is better in the recovery of spinal function and structure. |
