Objective:To investigate and analyze the correlation between severe early child-hood caries(S-ECC)and iron, zinc, copper and vitaminD.The general condition of S-ECC children was evaluated to provide reference for primary prevention and treat-ment.Methods: A total of 325 children(36-71 months old)who were seen in theDepartment of Child Health Care of the Health Management Center of Xinjiang Medical University from June 2018 to June 2019 were selected. The oral caries status was examined and classified as caries-free(CF)group(n=89),early childhood caries(ECC)group(n=141)and S-ECC group(n=95),of which 3 groups of childr-en were analyzed for caries status,in addition to CF group and S-ECC group were used to detect the content of three trace elements of iron, zinc, copper and vitamin D.Finally statistical analysis was performed. Results:Among 325 children who underwent oral examination, the prevalence of caries was 72.61%,the S-ECC rate was 29.23%,the decayed, missing or filled surfaces(dmfs)was 2.86±2.68,and the filling rate of deciduous teeth was 4.44%.Among them dmfs is different among children of different ages and has statistical significance(P<0.05).The iron content(mmol/L)of CF group and S-ECC group in children 3-6 years old was 8.36±0.42,8.13±0.44;the zinc content(?mol/L)was 83.18±7.28,79.23±6.38;the copper content(?mol/L)was 20.18±4.84,19.49±4.62,and the 25(OH)VD content(nmol/L)was 86.72±15.83,77.75±11.38.The copper content in CF group was higher than that in S-ECC group, but the difference was not statistical significance(P>0.05).The contentin of iron, zinc and 25(OH)VD of children in CF group were higher than those S-ECC group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and dmfs is negatively correlated with iron, zinc and 25(OH)VD(P<0.05).Conclusions: Parents do not pay enough attention to deciduous caries, children 's oral health education needs to be strengthened.Compared with children of caries free, the content of iron, zinc and vitamin D in children with S-ECC is lower, suggesting that the status of iron, zinc and vitamin D should be paid attention to during the prevention and treatment of S-ECC.
