Clinical Study On The Penetrating Needle In Treating Post-stroke Depression With Deficiency Of Intermingled Phlegm And Blood Stasis Type

Objective:To observe the improvemengt of penetration needling acupuncture on post-stroke depression with deficiency of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis type and evaluate the clinical effects of this method.At present,most of the clinical treatment adopts western medicine,which has the disadvantages of high cost and side effects.To explore a safe and effective,low cost and no adverse reaction of traditional Chinese medicine treatment has far-reaching practical significance.Methods:According to the principle of random,60 post-stroke depression of Intermingled phlegm and blood stasis type patients which from the outpatient and inpatient departments of acupuncture and neurology of Suzhou TCM Hospital were divided into the acupuncture group and the control group.Each group has 30 cases.They were given routine medication and rehabilitation by professional medical staff.The control group was given sertraline,while the acupuncture was treated with penetration needling method and reducing the dose of sertraline on the basis of them.The treatment continued for 8 weeks.The 24 Hamilton depression rating scale(HAMD-24),Modified Edinburgh-Scandinavia Stroke Scale(MESSS)and Activities of Daily Living Scale(ADL,Barthel Index,BI)were evaluated before treatment and after 8 weeks of treatment in the two groups to oberserve the effect on the recovery of depression,neurologic impairment,ability of daily life.Results:①Depression:The HAMD scale scores of both groups decreased after treatment(P<0.05),which represents an improvement in depression in both groups;The total effective rate of the acupuncture group was higher than that of the control group(P>0.05);There was no significant difference in HAMD scale scores between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05),which means the clinical effect of penetration needling acupuncture was similar to that of sertraline.②Neurologic impairment:The scores of MESSS scale of both groups decreased after treatment(P<0.05),which represents the motor nerve function in both groups was improved;The total effective rate of the acupuncture group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);There were statistically significant differences in the scores of MESSS scale after treatment,which means the improvement of the neurologic impairment of penetration needling acupuncture was more significant than that of sertraline.③Ability of daily life:The BI index scale scores of both groups were increased after treatment(P<0.05),which represents an improvement in ability of daily life in both groups;The total effective rate of the acupuncture group was higher than that of the control group(P>0.05);There were statistically significant differences in the scores of BI index scale after treatment,which means the improvement of the ability of daily work and life of penetration needling acupuncture was more significant than that of sertraline.Conclusion:Compare to given sertraline alone,penetration needling acupuncture can improve the depression,neurologic impairment and daily life ability of patients with phlegm-stasis type PSD.This can be used to make the treatment plan of post-stroke depression in clinic.
