| Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Modified Dachengqi Decoction on abdominal distension and constipation after thoracolumbar compression fracture in the elderly.Through the treatment group(Modified Dachengqi Decoction)and the control group(lactuose oral liquid)were given drugs respectively, the difference of postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery was observed and compared,in order to confirm the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine therapy, and to promote it in the clinic. Methods: Sixty-four elderly patients with thoracolumbar compression fracture who were hospitalized in the spinal surgery ward of our hospital from December 2018 to December 2019 and met the diagnostic criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 32 cases in each group. The patients in the two groups were treated with Modified Dachengqi Decoction and lactiose oral liquid respectively. The interval time from the initial treatment to the occurrence of defecation, the integral of abdominal distention and constipation, the visual analog score(VAS)of lumbar and back fractures and vertebral body pain, and the clinical efficacy were observed and analyzed.Results:(1)Score of abdominal distension and constipation: At the two time points of 1 day and 2 days after treatment, the score of abdominal distension and constipation in the treatment group and the control group before and after treatment showed an obvious downward trend, and the differences in each group were statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the Modified Dachengqi Decoction and loriose oral liquid were both effective. At the two time points of 1 day and 2 days after treatment, the decreasing trend of abdominal distension and constipation score in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the effect of Modified Dachengqi Decoction was more significant.(2)Clinical efficacy: After the course of treatment, the total effective rate was 96.88% in the treatment group and 90.32% in the control group. There were statistically significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05),indicating that the Modified Dachengqi Decoction had better clinical efficacy.(3)The interval between initial treatment and the onset of defecation: The treatment group was 10.938±2.094 h,and the control group was 14.71±3.309 h.The treatment time in the treatment group was significantly shorter than that in the control group with statistical significance(P<0.05),indicating that the Modified Dachengqi Decoction had higher defecation efficiency and could effectively promote postoperative defecation.(4)Visual analogue scale(VAS): After treatment, the score of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),indicating that after treatment, the pain of the injured vertebra in the treatment group was significantly relieved. Conclusion: In the treatment of abdominal distension and constipation after thoracolumbar compression fractures in the elderly,Modified Dachengqi Decoction and lactiose oral solution both have good curative effects. In addition, compared with lactiose oral solution,Modified Dachengqi Decoction can quickly relieve related symptoms, restore normal gastrointestinal function, and relieve patients’ painful feeling at the fractures in the lower back, which is conducive to postoperative rehabilitation. |
