Study On Prevalence And Influencing Factors Of Child Sexual Abuse Among The Middle School Students In Two Rural Areas Of Hubei

Objective: To understand the current status of prevalence of child sexual abuse and knowledge,attitude of child sexual abuse among middle school students in rural area of Hubei,analyses its influencing factors,and provide a scientific basis for formulating prevention and intervention strategies.Methods: In rural area of Hanchuan and Yunxi,2 junior high schools and 1 senior high schools were randomly sampled in each area,in which 3002 students were selected as the research object by stratified cluster sampling method.The status of middle school student's knowledge,behavior and occurrence of child sexual abuse and related influencing factors were investigated with the questionnaire.The information database was established by Epidata3.1 and the data was statistically analyzed with statistical description,?2test,t test and non conditional Logistic regression analysis by SPSS19.0.Result:1?The status and influencing factors of knowledge of sexual abuse:The total score of knowledge on child sexual abuse is 12 points.The score of knowledge on child sexual abuse among middle school student in Hanchuan was(9.07±2.012),and it was significantly higher than the score among middle school student in Yunxi(8.35±2.110),(t=10.287,P<0.001).The protective factors of the higher-score of knowledge were girls,non-only child,elder child,while it's risk factor was junior high school and below of the main caregiver's educational level.2?The status and influencing factors of attitude of sexual abuse:The total score of attitude on child sexual abuse is 15 points.The score of attitude on child sexual abuse among middle school student in Hanchuan was(12.22±2.162)and the score in Yunxi is(12.79±2.116).The protective factors of the higher-score of attitude were younger child,living in school.3?The incidence rate of child sexual abuse:The total child sexual abuse incidence rate was 18.6%,the incidence rate of contact sexual abuse was 5.2% and the incidence rate of non-contact sexual abuse was 17.7%.The incidence rate of sexual abuse in middle school students in Hanchuan was 18.6%.The incidence rate of female students was 14.7% lower than that of boys(21.9%),and it has significant difference(p <0.001).The incidence rate of sexual assault in left-behind children was 19.9%,it was higher than that of non-left-behind children(16.3%).The incidence of sexual abuse among middle school students in Yunxi was 19.7%.The incidence of female students was13.6% lower than that of boys,and it has a significant difference(p <0.001).The incidence rate of sexual assault in left-behind children was 20.5%,it was higher than that of non-left-behind children(16.7%).4?The status and influencing factors of child sexual abuse:The protective factors were girls,younger child,living in school,good relationship with caregiver,while it's risk factor was higher score of knowledge of sexual abuse.Conclusions:Rural middle school students' levels of knowledge and attitude on child sexual abuse are both general,especially among left-behind children.Education for sexual knowledge and protective knowledge in rural areas should be strengthened.The incidence rate of sexual abuse in rural children is high relatively,so corresponding intervention measures should be formulated according to different influencing factors.
