The public stigma of mental illness consists of three elements:stereotype, prejudice and discrimination. The existence of public stigma affects all aspects of the lives of people with mental illness, including the public’s belief in their recovery and danger, help, employment, social contact, and even their families and related employees.Because of the negative impact of mental illness, people from all walks of life attach great importance to the intervention research on the stigma of mental illness,so as to reduce the stigma of mental illness to the public. At present,a variety of intervention methods such as protest, education and contact have been proposed in domestic and foreign research.Among them, video contact is widely used at home and abroad, and the intervention effect is good, but the intervention effect is still not satisfactory. In addition, the research on the active components and the influencing mechanism of contact content is still in its infancy.Currently, the commonly recognized effective contents at home and abroad include the onset experience, treatment process and rehabilitation process, that is,the previous interventions are mostly focused on the "disease" of the patient, and the effective factors of the intervention are also related to the "disease",such as the widely recognized onset process, treatment process and rehabilitation process. In this study, the concept of high-quality contact and the different contact stages refined by Jia Yuelei in her research were introduced. It was assumed that the contact’s understanding of the"human" part of the patient could significantly reduce the stigma, and that the "human"part of the patient represented high-quality contact.Based on the above hypothesis, this paper intends to study the impact of different exposure contents(high-quality exposure VS traditional exposure)on the reduction of public stigma in patients with convalescence schizophrenia, and to explore the effect of intergroup exposure on exposure intervention and stigma level.Since there is no specific classification of the scales used to measure the stigma of mental illness at home and abroad, the stigma of mental illness mentioned in this study specifically refers to the stigma of schizophrenic patients in recovery. In this study,108 college students were divided into two experimental groups and one control group by the experimental group and the control group.Experimental group 1 was the high-quality contact group(see disease and see people),experimental group 2 was the traditional contact group(see disease and see no people),and the control group did not have any intervention. In the experimental group, video material 1 includes not only the onset, treatment and recovery of schizophrenia patients, but also the human characteristics of the patients themselves, that is,their stories of getting along with others and their own life experiences.Video material 2 only includes the onset, treatment and recovery of schizophrenics. The stigma scale of mental illness, intergroup anxiety scale and empathy scale revised by Zeng Qingzhi were used before and after the intervention. The results:(1)for the public stigma of patients with schizophrenia in the convalescence, both the traditional contact group and the high-quality contact group had significant intervention effects in the three dimensions of isolation, risk and ability, but there was no significant difference between the two groups. The content of contact intervention had good effect;(2)based on the above studies,it is found that intergroup anxiety has a significant mediating effect on exposure intervention and stigma level. Finally, based on the results of this study, the reasons behind are discussed and some Suggestions are put forward for the application of public stigma of mental illness in the future.
