| Objective:To understand the knowledge of sexual health and its influencing factors,the sexual health attitude and behavior status among college students.Put forward the intervention method based on the combination of curriculum education and peer education under the platform of general education,and study its intervention effect to provide theoretical support for popularizing sexual health education for college students.Methods:1.Cross-sectional investigation:Based on the results of literature research and expert consultation,the questionnaire was designed.Convenient sampling was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on undergraduates in a university total 1009 students as a research object to investigate the current status of sexual health.SPSS 20.0 was used for statistical analysis.2.Intervention study:Based on the results of previous surveys and expert consultation,we developed an intervention method.The students participating in the course were curriculum education group and receive the curriculum education.They were encouraged to match other students separately to form the peer education group and the control group.Questionnaire was used to conduct baseline surveys,performance surveys and follow-up surveys of the three groups of students to understand their intervention effects.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 20.0.Result:1.Cross-sectional investigation:(1)Knowledge:College students’knowledge score of sexual health was 16.14±4.53(total score 23),and knowledge rate was 36.3%.The protected factors of high sexual health knowledge scores of college students were medical school(OR=4.265,95%CI:2.374-3.061),the annual household income≥30,000and<80,000(OR=8.866,95%CI:1.131-69.488),the annual household income≥80,000and<300,000(OR=8.247,95%CI:1.050-64.771),received school sex education(OR=1.584,95%CI:1.178-2.129),learned sex knowledge independently(OR=2.158,95%CI:1.522-3.061).(2)Attitude:Significant differences were found between males and females on contraceptive methods(c~2=25.801,P=0.000),whether condoms were used during sexual intercourse(c~2=19.431,P=0.000),and where to buy contraceptives(c~2=32.869,P=0.000).51.0%of college students didn’t have a different vision of STD patients,25.0%of college students were in favour of sexual liberation in the West.There was a significant difference between male and female students’attitudes towards college students’sexual behavior(c~2=52.120,P=0.000)and homosexuality(c~2=80.758,P=0.000).91.1%of college students believed that universities should conduct sex education.(3)Behaviours:30.9%of college students have studied how to use condoms,57.7%of them have watched pornographic books or related audiovisual products,and15.9%of them have had sex.2.Intervention study:(1)Knowledge:The knowledge rates were 39.6%,73.4%,66.1%among curriculum education group at three time points;the knowledge rates were 30.7%,52.5%,and 50.4%among peer education group,respectively;the knowledge rates were 34.9%,43.5%,and 41.7%among control group.The knowledge scores of curriculum education group at three time points were 16.59±4.26,19.21±3.29,18.85±3.52(F=19.364,P=0.000);The knowledge scores of peer education group were 15.95±4.68,17.07±4.71,16.63±5.07,and no statistical difference.The knowledge scores of control group were 15.50±4.93,16.31±5.08,16.04±5.53,and no statistical difference.(2)Attitude:Only curriculum education group’s perceptions of whether to use condoms during sex(c~2=14.910,P=0.005)and whether sex education will lead to more sexual behaviors(c~2=16.320,P=0.003)have changed significantly.The changes in other concepts had no statistical significance.(3)Behaviours:There were no obvious changes in the behaviours of college students.Conclusions:The understanding of sexual health knowledge among college students in China was still uneven,the attitude of sexual related problems needs to be strengthened,and the occurrence of sexual related behaviors was not rare.The intervention method based on the combination of curriculum education and peer education under the general education platform has a comparative effect,worthy of promotion in colleges. |
