| Being bullied is a kind of aggressive behavior, which includes direct bullying(verbal bullying)and indirect bullying(relational bullying).Being bullied can affect one’s mental health(such as depression and anxiety).Eating disorders are psychological and physiological disorders characterized by abnormal eating behaviors and attitudes.Research shows that bullying has serious consequences for students’ mental health and is a risk factor for eating disorders. When individuals perceive bullying as stress,it also affects their mental health, and stress is often associated with eating disorders.Resilience is an individual’s positive qualities, including resilience,self-reliance,and optimism. It is one of the most important resources for coping with stress. It can affect an individual’s post-stress response.Individuals with high resilience experience more positive emotions, can regulate the individual in the face of stress of mood and behavior,so under stress, low psychological resilience of the individual more vulnerable to the impact of eating disorders more likely. This study suggests that stress perception mediates the effects of bullying on eating disorders, and mental toughness mediates the effects of stress perception on eating disorders. The present study investigated the effects of bullying on eating disorders in college students by using the victimization scale, the perceived stress scale, the Connor Davidson psychological resilience scale and the eating attitude scale EAT-26,as well as the mediating role of stress perception and mental toughness,700 freshmen and senior students from universities in Heilongjiang and Henan were selected as subjects. The results are as follows:(1)the incidence of college students being bullied was 29.95%,among which, the incidence of relational bullying was 14.90%,the incidence of verbal bullying was15.05%.The independent sample t test showed that there was significant difference in the total score of relational bullying and victimization between sexes, the scores of female students were higher than that of male students, and the total scores of relationship bullying, verbal bullying and bullying were significantly different. The results of one-way Anova showed that there were significant differences in the total scores of relational bullying, verbal bullying and bullying among college students.(2)the level of stress perception of college students was in the middle, and independent sample t test showed that there was significant difference in gender between stress perception and tension, and the score of female students was higher than that of male students, the grade difference of tension and pressure perception was significant. The test after the event showed that the scores of sophomore were higher than that of freshman and junior, and the scores of senior were higher than that of freshman.(3)the level of college students’ mental toughness is above the middle level, which indicates that the level of college students’ mental toughness is generally on the high side. The independent sample t test showed that there were significant gender differences in tenacity,self-strengthening and mental toughness, and the score of self-strengthening was higher in Male students than in female students, the scores of optimism dimension were significantly higher in urban than in rural areas, and the scores of resilience, tenacity and self-reliance of college students were significantly higher than those of non-only children.(4)the general level of eating disorder of college students was below the middle level,24.73% of them had anorexia or bulimia, and 15.98% of them were likely to have anorexia or bulimia. The independent sample t test showed that the Diet dimension had significant gender difference, and the score of female was higher than that of male.(5)correlation analysis showed that college students’ perception of victimization and stress was significantly positively correlated with eating disorder, college students’ perception of victimization and stress was negatively correlated with mental toughness, and mental toughness was negatively correlated with eating disorder.(6)the Structural Equation Model showed that college students’ bullying had significant positive predictive effect on eating disorders,in which stress perception played a mediating role, and mental toughness played a moderating role in the effect of stress perception on eating disorders, compared with the high resilience group, the low resilience group’s stress perception had a relatively greater predictive effect on eating disorders, moreover, the low resilience group’s stress perception had stronger mediating effect between college students’ being bullied and eating disorder. |
