Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Insomnia Of Liver Fire Harassing Heart Type By Cluster Needling On Scalp Points Combined With Source Points

Objective:The purpose of this clinical trial was to observe the clinical efficacy of cluster needling on scalp points with source points in treating liver fire harassing of heart type insomnia,and explore the mechanism of this method,thus to provide an effective acupuncture prescription for clinical treatment of insomnia.Methods:66 patients who were eligible for this clinical trial were randomly divided into treatment group(33cases)and control group(33cases).The acupoints selected for the treatment group were:cluster needling on scalp points,LR3,LI4,HT7,SP3,KI3.Acupoints for the control group were:EX-HN3,EX-HN1,Anmian,HT7,KI6,BL62,LR2,and GB43.By comparing the changes in the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale(PSQI)and Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)scale scores between the two groups before and after treatment and the follow-up period,the results of transcranial Doppler(TCD)tests before and after treatment were used to evaluate the efficacy of two groups in treating insomnia.Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25.0software.Results:1.Comparison of groups before and after treatment:PSQI,HAMA,and TCD were improved after treatment in both groups.PSQI and HAMA scores were lower in the two groups during the follow-up period,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).2.Comparison between groups after treatment:In treatment group the scores of PSQI was lower than them in the control group except for hours of sleep after the treatment,and during the follow-up period was lower than them in the control group except for the sleep latency;the scores of HAMA after treatment and follow-up period were lower than the control group;treatment group in improving Vp was better than the control group by the TCD.MCA_R and PCA_R in the treatment group were better than those in the control group in improving VE,and difference was not statistically significant between the two groups of other blood vessels(P>0.05).3.The total effective rate in the treatment group was 86.67%,and the total effective rate in the control group was 78.13%.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Both groups are effective in treating insomnia,and the acupuncture prescription of"cluster needling on scalp points with source points"is superior to conventional acupuncture.2.The acupuncture prescription of"cluster needling on scalp points with source points"may treat insomnia by improving the blood flow velocity of middle,anterior and posterior cerebral artery.
