Community Comprehensive Intervention Scheme For Knee Osteoarthritis Based On The Theory Of "Treating Sinew For Bone Disease"

Objective: Guided by the theory of “muscle for bone” and taking community knee osteoarthritis(KOA)patients as research objects,using traditional Chinese medicine massage,acupoints,Chinese medicine fumigation and celecoxib capsules as intervention methods to explore comprehensive community interventions with the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine,optimizing community intervention models for knee osteoarthritis.Method: The 100 patients with knee osteoarthritis who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and were willing to participate in the study were randomly divided into the Chinese medicine community intervention group(hereinafter referred as the intervention group)and general control group(hereinafter referred as the control group)for 4 weeks intervention.Based on Visual Analogue Score(VAS),Western Ontario and Mc Master Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC),joint mobility and swelling of the affected knee as indicators,compare the indicators data of the two groups before treatment,at 2 weeks,4 weeks,and after 3 months and 6 months after the end of treatment,using these outcome to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of the Chinese medicine community intervention program.Results: After the end of the treatment period,the patients in the intervention group could achieve the same effect as the control group in terms of pain relief(P>0.05),but the patients in the intervention group was better than control group in improving the knee joint mobility and reducing the local swelling of the knee joint(P<0.05);At the time of follow-up and 6 months follow-up,the pain control,joint mobility,and joint swelling of patients in the intervention group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions: Community comprehensive intervention programs with Chinese medicine characteristics have better clinical effects in controlling pain,increasing joint mobility,and reducing joint swelling,and have certain advantages in long-term effects,which can be promoted in the community.
