| Objective: To explore the method of high frequency ultrasound examination of normal adults popliteal fossa, the ultrasonic measurement parameters of the tibial nerve and common peroneal nerve in the popliteal fossa were obtained in normal adults, and clarify the ultrasonographic characteristics of popliteal fossa and in normal adults and patients. Methods: High-frequency ultrasound was used to examine the 80 popliteal fossa of40 normal adults(22 males and 18 females),observe the adjacent relation of muscles, tendons, nerves and blood vessels of the popliteal fossa of normal adults, and its normal sonographic features were described;the cross sectional area of the tibial nerve and the common peroneal nerve at the popliteal fold in normal adults was measured, statistical analysis was performed according to the male and female groups and left and right groups. The sonographic characteristics of pathological changes popliteal fossa in 45 patients were described and recorded. Results: In this study, multiple sectional sonograms of normal adults popliteal fossa were obtained by using bones and blood vessels as anatomic landmarks, the sonographic features and anatomical relationship of popliteal muscles, tendons, nerves and blood vessels was identified, the tibial nerve and the common peroneal nerve CSA in the popliteal transverse lines of normal adults(44 males and 36females)was measured.Statistical analysis showed that : there was significant differences of CSA of the suprascapular nerve and dorsal scapular nerve between the males and females(p<0.05),while there was no significant differences of CSA of the suprascapular nerve and dorsal scapular nerve between the left and right side(p>0.05).This study classified and summarized 45 cases of popliteal fossa disease sonographic features. These include : tumor and tumor-like lesions, traumatic lesions, vascular lesions. Conclusion: High-frequency ultrasound can clearly display the popliteal fossa anatomy of the adjacent relation and ultrasonographic characteristics of normal adults. There was no difference between the left and right sides of CSA of tibial nerve and common peroneal nerve in popliteal ransverse lines in normal adults, but there was difference between men and women.High frequency ultrasound is of great value in the diagnosis of popliteal diseases, which is worth to promotion and application in hospitals at all levels. |
