Objective: The study is proposed to determine the level of Ig A anti-moesin antibody in patients with Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura(HSP).Also it analysed the correlation between Ig A anti-moesin antibody and the different clinical types of HSP in order to furtherly explore the possible pathogenesis in HSP.Methods:Thirty-five HSP patients at the acute stage, four at convalescent stage and 60 healthy people were recruited in the study. The acute HSP patients were subdivided into 4 clinical types: skin type, joint type, abdominal type and renal type.A simple symptom score was obtained for each patient, and the level of Ig A anti-moesin antibody in the serums was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: 1.The Ig A anti-moesin antibody level increased in patients with acute HSP was higher than the healthy control(P <0.05).The area under the constructed receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.770.The optimal cut-off point was at an absorbance(A)of 0.663.At this time, the diagnostic sensitivity was 74.3% and the specificity was 70.0%;2.The levels of Ig A anti-moesin antibody in different clinical types of HSP patients were all respectively higher than the healthy controls(P <0.05).Antibody level in abdominal type group were the highest, and it was statistically different from levels both in skin type group and kidney type group(P <0.05).But there was no statistical difference between abdominal type group and the joint type group(P> 0.05).There were no statistical differences between skin type group, kidney type group and joint type group(P> 0.05)either;3.There was no significant correlation between the level f Ig A anti-moesin antibody and the symptoms score of HSP(r = 0.039,P> 0.05);4.There was no statistically significant difference in the levels of Ig A anti-moesin antibody between the patients at acute and those at convalescent stage(P> 0.05).Conclusions:The Ig A anti-moesin antibody may be involved in the pathogenesis of HSP.But its specific role in the pathogenesis needs to be further confirmed. This result may provide new ideas about the improvement of diagnosis and treatment of HSP.
