Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Mongolian medicine acupuncture combined with Mongolian medicine in treating depression from the aspects of clinical efficacy, disease remission, and side effects through literature research and clinical reevaluation studies, and to provide theoretical basis for improving Mongolian medicine to treat mood disorders. Methods: 80 patients with first-onset depression were selected and randomly divided into control group and treatment group. The control group was treated with paroxetine combined with traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture;the treatment group was treated with Mongolian medicine acupuncture combined with Mongolian medicine. The control group was treated with acupuncture combined with paroxetine at a dose of 20 mg / d.The acupuncture points were taken from the Dazhui,Xinshu, and Huangzhong points, which were the same as those of the Mongolian doctors in the treatment group, and related literatures recorded that acupuncture points above had a marked improvement in some depression symptoms. The treatment group was treated with Mongolian medicine acupuncture combined with Mongolian medicine.Mongolian medicine is based on the principles of Zhen Heyi and Ningxin.Early: Zadi-5,Caogu Siwei Decoction;noon: Qingzhuo Wuwei Pill;late: Weiming Shiweiwei San,Sugmuller-3.According to the three theories of Mongolian medicine,Heyi,Xin,and Heiji points were selected.(1)Heyi Point: It is located in the depression of the first thoracic vertebra.Indications: Hey disease,Hey’s spread to the heart causes panic and irritability.(2)Heart point: located in the middle of the 7th thoracic vertebra.Indications include palpitations, tremor, insomnia, poor appetite, lack of interest, loss of energy, coma, and heart disease.(3)Black and white points: located at the front of the midline,at the heart of the two breasts.Indications: palpitations, palpitations, discomfort in the anterior region of the heart, upset and depression.Acupuncture and Moxibustion Methods of Mongolian Medicine: Acupuncture points of Hei,Xin,and Heiji acupuncture points were used with Mongolian medicine silver needles(acupuncture: 0.7mm,needle length: 5cm).The needle points of Heyi and Xin points are inclined upward by 15-20 mm,and the needle points of black and white points are inclined downward by 15-20 mm.One acupuncture point was selected daily, and the needle handle was connected to the Mongolian Medical Electrothermal Silver Needle Therapy Device to heat the stimulus. The heating temperature was(40 ± 1)° C,and each heating time was 20 minutes. The heating sequence was "Heyi acupoint" on the first day,"heart acupoint" on the second day,and "black and white acupoints" on the third day, followed by cyclic stimulation for 6 weeks.Efficacy and side effects were assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale 17(HAMD)and Antidepressant Side Effects Scale 14(SERS)scores,and were assessed once before treatment,2,4,and 6 weeks after treatment. The HAMD reduction rate is the standard of clinical efficacy. The clinical efficacy of Mongolian medicine acupuncture combined with Mongolian medicine in the treatment of depression was evaluated from the aspects of clinical efficacy, degree of remission and side effects. Results: 1.The total clinical efficacy of the experimental group was 84.6%(33/39),and the total clinical efficacy of the control group was 82.1%(32/39).The total clinical efficacy of the experimental group was approximately the same as the control group(p>0.05),and the difference was not statistically significant.significance.2.The total score of HAMD before and after treatment in the experimental group is statistically significant(p<0.01),and it has a significant effect on improving depression.3.The comparison of the total HAMD scores before and after treatment in the control group was statistically significant(p<0.01),and had a significant effect on improving depression.4.The total score of HAMD after 6 weeks of treatment between the two groups was not statistically significant(p>0.05).The clinical effects of the two groups in improving depression were about the same.5.After 6 weeks of treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in improving the main symptoms of depression such as low mood and lack of interest(p>0.05),but there was a significant difference in improving the accompanying symptoms of depression such as insomnia, palpitation, and restlessness(p <0.01),the effect of the experimental group is better.6.After 6 weeks of treatment, the total scores of the antidepressant side effect scale(SERS)between the two groups were compared, and the difference was statistically significant(p <0.01).The experimental group had fewer side effects than the control group.CONCLUSION: Mongolian acupuncture combined with Mongolian medicine is effective in treating first-onset depression.Compared with traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture combined with paroxetine hydrochloride in treating insomnia, palpitation, restlessness and other depression symptoms, the effect is more obvious. Its mechanism may be related to Zhen Heyi.Mongolian medicine acupuncture combined with Mongolian medicine for treatment of first-onset depression has fewer side effects than traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture combined with paroxetine hydrochloride.
