| Objectives:This retrospective study explored the effects of ASC angle screw abutments and esthetic abutment on marginal bone resorption in esthetic area of maxillaMethods:A total of 44 patients and 53 implants were included in this retrospective study Implants were divided into two groups:Esthetic abutment group and ASC(Angulated screw channel)abutment group.CBCT scans were taken before final prosthesis placement and one year after restoration.BVBL(Buccal Vertical alveolar bone level)was the perpendicular distance from the implant platform to the most coronal point of the alveolar bone.BHBT(Buccal Horizontal alveolar bone thickness)was measured at 0,1,3 and 5mm apical to the implant platformResults:The △BVBL of Esthetic abutment group was-0.31±0.23mm,and the changes of BHBT at 0,1,3,and 5 mm sites were-0.14±0.25mm,-0.11±0.15mm,-0.09±0.18mm,-0.07±0.21mm;The △BVBL of ASC(Angulated screw channel)abutment group was-0.25±0.18mm,and the changes of BHBT at 0,1,3,and 5 mm sites were-0.14 ± 0.19mm,-0.10 ± 0.28mm,-0.10 ± 0.26mm,-0.09 ± 0.17mm.There was no significant difference between Esthetic abutment group and ASC abutment group inΔBVBL and ΔBHBT0,1,3,5(P>0.05).There was a positive correlation betweenΔBVBL and BHBT0(P<0.05).Conclusions:Comparing with conventional esthetic abutment, the restoration of ASC abutment could achieve similar bone tissue stability around the implant. As the thickness of the bone at implant platform level increases, the vertical bone resorption decreases. |
