Objective:With the progress of research,we have much more knowledge about mixed state.Especially with the modification of DSM5 mixed features specifier,a brief scale is needed in clinical practice to screen mood disorder patients with mixed features. This study aims to explore psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Clinically Useful Depression Outcome Scale-Mixed Subscale(CUDOS-M-C)for the Chinese patients with mood disorder.Methods:Overall,300 patients with depressive episode were recruited in the study, including 49 with major depressive disorder(MDD),180 with bipolar disorder(BD)with depressive episode and 71 with depressive episode with mixed features. All participants were assessed using CUDOS-M-C,Young Mania Rating Scale(YMRS),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale(MADRS).The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis was used to calculate the optimal cut-off value of CUDOS-M-C score. The reliability and validity of the CUDOS-M-C were examined with Cronbach’s alpha, intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC)and principal components analysis(PCA).Results:Statistical analysis showed that for CUDOS-M-C,the Cronbach’s alpha was 0.892 and the ICC was 0.853.The PCA indicated that two-factor structure was the best solution for the CUDOS-M-C(item 1-10 as one factor and item 11-13 as another),which explained 54.82% of cumulative variance.Besides, the scores of CUDOS-M-C were significantly correlated with scores of YMRS(r=0.614,p<0.001)and HAMA(r=0.177,p=0.007).The area under the ROC curve of the CUDOS-M-C for participants with mixed depression was 0.927(p < 0.001)and the suitable cut-off value was eight, with 91.6% sensitivity and 79.9% specificity. Conclusions:The CUDOS-M-C has satisfactory psychometric properties as a self-rating scale, and it could be used to screen the patients with mixed depression in psychiatry region.
