| Objectives:To understand the mental health status of amphetamine-type stimulants users in Shanghai Women’s Compulsory Isolation Detoxification Center;to explore the effectiveness and applicability of group music therapy on negative emotions of female amphetamine-type stimulants users.Methods:1.Research design: The first part of the study is a cross-sectional mental health survey,which investigates mental health status of 197 female amphetamine-type stimulants users.The second part is the randomized controlled intervention experiment,which applied quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the intervention effect.Sixty participants were randomly divided into two groups: the intervention group received 13 weeks of group music therapy and the routine education activities,and the control group received weekly Psychological education activities and other routine activities,and finally compare the improvement of negative emotions between the two groups.2.Assessment instruments: assessments of the two groups at baseline,Week 6th,Week 13 th,and after three months follow-up,including general demographic data,self-rating depression scale,selfrating anxiety scale,Pittsburgh sleep quality index,Emotion Regulation Questionnaire,Stages of Change Read-iness and Treatment Eagerness Scale,Interpersonal Reactivity Index,Motivation for Drug Rehabilitation,Stress Response Questionnaire,emotional visual analogue scale,craving visual analogue scale,emotional stroop cognition Procedures.3.Via SPSS version 17.0,utilizing descriptive statistics,Chi-square test,Independent t test,one-factor ANOVA,repeated ANOVA,paired t-test etc.0.05 was chosen as the threshold of significant differences.Results:1.Cross-sectional survey results: This study investigated the mental health status of 197 women with amphetamine-type stimulants users,38.5% of the participants had negative emotions.The anxiety score of the non-depression group(36.23±7.65)was significantly lower than that of the depression group(48.49±8.49)(F=110.063,p<0.000).The evasive internal motivation(41.18±8.50)and detoxification confidence score(31.05±6.00)in the depression group were significantly lower than those in the non-depressed group(37.52±4.97)and detoxification confidence(33.17±4.80)(p<0.05)..The motivation for detoxification in the anxiety group(155.91±23.36)was significantly lower than that in the non-anxiety group(167.74±24.20).2.Intervention experiment results: A total of 57 subjects completed the intervention experiment,27 in the intervention group and 30 in the control group.There was a significant difference in the age between the two groups(p<0.05).After the intervention,time and group interaction were significant in Motivation dimension(F=4.480,p<0.05),avoidance of external motivation dimension(F=3.117,p<0.05);the interaction of perspective selection dimension was significant(F=3.694,p<0.05)between two group;there are non-significant difference between toe group in other outcome;the emotional VAS scale score was analyzed by repeated measures analysis of variance.Except for the “calm”,the other emotional scores were significantly different between the two groups(p<0.001);for confused,repression and happy,the time and group interaction between the two groups was significant(p<0.05);3.Follow-up data results: The intervention group’s internal motivation,detoxification confidence,and external motivation scores were significantly higher than the control group(p<0.05).The SOCRATES score of the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group(p<0.05).Conclusion:Group music therapy has feasibility,can improve the negative emotion of female amphetamine substance use disorder to a certain extent,and improve the motivation of drug rahabilitation. |
