Clinical Analysis Of 102 Cases Of Enteric Duplication In Children

Objective: To summarize the clinical characteristics of enteric duplication in children,and to guide clinical decisions about diagnosis and treatment.Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 102 cases of enteric duplication managed at our hospital between January,2002 and December,2018.Results: 1.Of the 102 enteric duplication cases,the ratio of male to female being 3:2,and the main clinical manifestations were vomiting(72.5%),abdominal pain(42.2%),abdominal distention(25.5%).2.The main preoperative examinations are abdominal ultrasonography(positive rate=38.6%),abdominal computed tomography(positive rate=39.1%),emission computed tomography(positive rate=77.8%),no significant difference was found in the incidences of positive rate among the 3examinations.According to the clinical manifestation,we divided 102 enteric duplication cases into the following 3 groups: obstruction(44.1%),inflammation(42.2%),gastrointestinal hemorrhage(13.7%).The positive rate of abdominal ultrasonography(χ~2=0.175,P=0.916),abdominal CT(χ~2=0.073,P=1.0),ECT(χ~2=1.286,P=0.583)showed no significant difference among the 3 groups.On the basis of the alimentary tractaffected by duplications,enteric duplications were split into the following4 groups: duodenum(2.9%),small intestine(86.3%),colon(6.9%)and rectum(3.9%).The incidences of clinical manifestation(P=0.307),groups divided by clinical manifestations(P=0.895),size of the lesions(P=0.109),positive rate of the preoperative examinations(ultrasonography:χ~2=0.894,P=1.0,CT : χ~2=2.585,P=0.639)among the 4 groups showed no significant difference.3.All cases underwent surgery,there were 87 cystic duplications,15 tubular duplications.The difference of clinical manifestations in the two types of duplication was statistically significant(P=0.019).And as for the exact location of the lesion,there were 3 cases lie inside the enteric cavity,8 cases found in the muscular layer or under the subserosa,91 cases were parenteral.The difference of surgical methods(P=0.000)and exact location of the lesion(P=0.000)in 4groups above was statistically significant.Conclusion: Enteric duplication has no specific clinical manifestations,preoperative diagnosis should be based on clinical manifestations and different examinations.The treatment of enteric duplication is surgical,and the operation should be performed electively.
