Purpose:Analyze socioeconomic factors effected on catheter ablation selection of inpatient department atrial fibrillation patients from January 2016 to December 2018,and provide references to develop tailored treatment plans in clinical practice. Methods:Patients whose principal diagnosis were“atrial fibrillation”and admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2016 to December 2018 were included. All patients were divided into two groups, the ablation group who received catheter ablation to treat atrial fibrillation, and non-ablation group who did not receive catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation treatment.General conditions contained sex, age;socioeconomic factors included admission date, marital status, number and sex of offspring, economic status of residences, education level, and medical insurance status;clinical factors included symptoms related to atrial fibrillation,CHA2DS2-VASc score and so on.Information on these three aspects was gathered and analyzed between the ablation and non-ablation group to figure out socioeconomic differences between the two groups. Results:After adjusted non-socioeconomic factors, the results suggested that patients with admission dates earlier than 2017.09.09(aOR0.256,95%CI:0.167-0.392),lower education level(illiteracy vs college aOR 0.353,95%CI:0.156-0.799;primary education vs college aOR 0.293,95%CI:0.164-0.525)were less likely receiving ablation therapy, and those with residences in better economic status(underdeveloped areas vs backward areas aOR 4.898,95%CI:2.169-11.060)were more likely receiving catheter ablation. Conclusions:The admission date, education level, and economic status of residence have influences on the selection of catheter ablation, which reminds clinicians to pay more attention to the different socioeconomic backgrounds of patients to formulate tailored treatments.
