| Objective To investigate the risk factors of cough variant asthma(CVA)and classic asthma(CA)in children aged 5-14 years, and to provide a new idea and treatment plan for the prevention and control of CVA and CA in children. Methods Children with cough variant asthma(CVA)(65 cases)and typical asthma(CA)(60 cases)(5~14 years old)were collected in the respiratory specialist outpatient department of Quanzhou Children’s Hospital from July 2017 to December 2018.Another 50 healthy children in the same age group were selected.Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25-(OH)D)and peripheral blood eosinophils(Eos)were determined, and relevant clinical data and physical examination were collected.Multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors of CVA and CA.Results The average level of 25(OH)D in the CVA group was(27.82±5.39)ng/ml,which was between(21.20±8.32)ng/ml in the CA group and(35.84±8.32)ng/ml in the healthy control group. The difference between the three groups was statistically significant(P<0.001).The average peripheral blood EOS count in the CVA group was(0.86±0.763)×10~9/L,and that in the CA group was(1.04±0.962)×10~9/L,both of which were higher than the average peripheral blood EOS count in the healthy control group(0.43±0.192)×10~9/L,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in peripheral blood EOS count between the CA group and the CVA group(P>0.05).The results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences among the three groups in repeated respiratory infection, allergic rhinitis, eczema, family history of allergy, family history of asthma, vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency, and increased peripheral blood EOS count(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that family history of asthma was a high risk factor for CVA and CA.Repeated respiratory infection, eczema history, vdeficiency and insufficiency, and increased peripheral blood EOS count were allmiddle level risk factors for CVA and CA.Conclusion CVA is correlated with CA,and family history of asthma is a high risk factor for CVA and CA.Repeated respiratory infection, eczema history, vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency, and increased peripheral blood EOS count were all middle level risk factors for CVA and CA. |
