Study On Patient Trust Willingness Based On Attribution Model Of Trust Repair

Objective : To study the patient’s trust willingness by using qualitative and quantitative methods.The purpose of the study were to analyze the patient’s trust willingness,to explore the influencing factors of patient’s trust willingness and its mechanism.Based on the research results,the author can systematically analyze the trust problems of patients in doctor-patient relationship and put forward some suggestions to improve patients’ trust and build a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.Methods: In this study,the quantitative data was collected by using a self-prepared questionnaire from the research group.The qualitative data was collected by using focus group discussion,expert consultation,and interviews with others.To analyze the status of patient’s trust willingness by using descriptive statistical analysis methods,and to find the differences in the patient’s trust willingness among people with different characteristics.Based on attribution model of trust repair,explored the influencing factors of patient’s trust willingness by using the grounded theory and the structural equation model.Then put forward the relevant strategies to enhance patient trust and improve doctor-patient relationship.Results :(1)The overall average score of patient’s trust willingness was 2.483±0.994,It shows that trust intention of patients was at a low level.(2)The analysis results of the trust willingness of patients with different characteristics showed that the differences were found statistically significant in education,employment status,residence,and occupation(P<0.05).(3)The analysis results of factors of patient’s trust willingness showed that attribution and negative emotions would have a directly negative impact on patient trust willingness.The influence coefficients were 0.160 and0.192.The satisfaction of trust repair measures would have a direct positive effect on the patient’s trust willingness,the influence coefficient was 0.500.Internality attribution,controllability attribution,stability attribution and negative emotions can have indirect negative effects on the patient’s trust willingness through other factors.There are also interactions among other factors.Conclusion: The patient’s trust willingness was at a low level,it indicated that patients generally didn’t choose to trust the doctors and medical institutions after their trust was compromised.The analysis of influencing factors found that the satisfaction of trust repair measures had a greatest impact on patient’s trust willingness,and this effect was positive.Patient’s negative emotions and internality attribution had an important negative impact on the patient trust willingness.Therefore,in order to enhance the patient’s trust willingness and improve the relationship between doctors and patients,hospitals should improve the doctor-patient dispute resolution mechanism,positively respond to patient appeals,and eliminate patients’ negative emotions.Medical personnel should enhance service awareness and communication skills,and improve patient trust.The government should also improve relevant legal systems to promote resolution of conflicts between doctors and patients.
