| Objective The neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders in 60 cases were summarized to improve the understanding of the disease and to reduce recurrence. Methods From January 2016 to May 2019,a total of 60 patients who were treated in General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University(include Cardiocerebral Vascular Disease Hospital)were selected as research objects. The general situation of the patients such as gender and age at first onset, clinical manifestations, affected areas as well as auxiliary examinations such as cerebrospinal fluid,Visual evoked potential, autoimmune antibodies and others were retrospectively analyzed. The above patients were divided into two groups:AQP4 antibody positive group and AQP4 antibody negative group. The statistical methods such as chi-square test,t test and two independent sample nonparametric tests were used to compare the difference between the AQP4 antibody positive group and the AQP4 antibody negative group.Results1.Among the 60 patients, the incidence of female was significantly higher than that of male, with a female to male sex ratio of 13:2.2.Among the 60 patients, single phase type accounted for 6.7% and relapse-remission type accounted for 93.3%.3.The median number of the effected spinal cord segments in the AQP4 antibody positive group was 7(5,9),and the median number of the effected spinal cord segments in the AQP4 antibody negative group was 3(2,5),which was a statistical difference between the twogroups(P<0.05);AQP4 antibody positive group had more affected spinal cord segments ≥3vertebral segments than AQP4 antibody negative group, there was a statistical difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion1.The 60 patients in this case were mostly female, and the disease recurrence rate was high.2.AQP4 antibody positive group had more spinal cord involvement than AQP4 antibody negative group. |
